Position Statement: Hilton is seeking an experienced Director of Sales who will be responsible for a team who manage a portfolio of the highest value and largest potential Share of Wallet accounts located in Spain and Portugal. You will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing the team and accounts to drive revenue and market share growth for our 7500+ properties while contributing to the account portfolio growth for Hilton. We will depend on you to build strategic partnerships and enhance Hilton's presence throughout your region.

As the Director of Sales for the region, you will be committed to overseeing a portfolio of accounts focused on Corporate and Leisure transient, Group business and select Vertical Markets. This includes account qualification and compliance to account governance protocols. You will ensure the client's day-to-day needs are met through the team while identifying viable opportunities for deliberate initiatives designed to improve operational and financial performance. You will need to have a deep knowledge of customer strategies, structure, and businesses in alignment with all stakeholders within Hilton.

The role currently has a team of five team members across Spain and Portugal based in Madrid and Lisbon.

Position Summary:


• Develop key account management, which increases Hilton's market share and closely matches the way customers choose to buy.


• Continue to establish Hilton's presence and hotel awareness and loyalty in market by directly influencing and driving sales strategies.


• Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy and individual Account Plans to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets.


• Direct team to ensure that sales resource is mobilized to drive market share from Key Accounts with the highest potential.


• Develop powerful personal relationships with decision makers and influencers within the top producing accounts.


• Ensure that measurement systems are in place & robust to track accurately the production of all targeted accounts.


• Represent Hilton at industry trade shows, special industry events, roadshows, and other activities to elevate customer awareness of Hilton to drive segment growth.


• Anticipate client and hotels needs and actively develop an approach that is tailored to each customer.


• Identify emerging trends, customer preferences and competitive positioning to form sales strategies.


• Engage in relevant industry organizations.


• Set team objectives that are aligned with the business. Implements measurement metrics to ensure effectiveness of team.


• Strengthening relationships with key hotels and Management Groups and aligning strategies where relevant.


• Executes organizational directives and encourages achievement of goals through motivation, communication and leadership.


• Develops talent to achieve optimal performance and works with team members to accomplish goals and career objectives.


• Manages cross-functional links to other teams, departments and functions.


• Build positive internal and external relationships to influence people.

• Experienced within the Spain and Portugal market of the region's scope with well-established relationships already in place.


• Highly collaborative mindset with ability to positively add value to engagement, internally and externally.


• Excellent communication skills:presentations, written and public speaking.


• Ability to direct collaboration among cross-functional teams including external resources.


• Leads by example to resolve conflicts, introduce change, and ensure collaboration among others.


• Demonstrates the highest standards of ethical behaviour and absolute discretion with sensitive information.


• Strong understanding of sales process, tools, measurements and systems


• Prioritizes, organizes, and uses a systematic approach to get things done.


• Strong problem-solving skills including ability to address any issue in collaboration with others, identify and prevent potential problems and develop problem solving skills in others.


• Ability to think and articulate a vision for business sales and capable of translating this into practical and tangible actions.


• Team Management experience is essential. Ability to deliver performance feedback to team member to improve overall performance.


• Strong negotiation skills to maximize value for internal and external partners.


• Fluency in English and Spanish is essential. Portuguese also preferred.
