With HyPower, Airbus UpNext has the ambition to deliver a disruptive and innovative project to demonstrate the potential of a sustainable power generation source used onboard the aircraft.

This demonstrator will have a crucial role in determining the potential of hydrogen as an energy source in aviation.


This position is within the Airbus UpNext subsidiary in Spain and you are accountable for supporting and contributing to the execution strategy, organization, operations and performance of the Industrialization.


Mission


The demonstrator will integrate complex systems including power generation, electrical distribution and conversion, fuel storage and distribution, pneumatic and thermal systems.

Those systems will include novel technologies for aviation, and will be integrated in a new system with new operational constraints.

In order to validate and verify these systems, dedicated test means will be developed for this purpose.


As a End to End Test Bench Engineer, you will be in charge of the test activities from the specification to the bench design, manufacturing and commissioning, up to the test executions within the given time, costs and objectives.


Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for End to End technical coordination of the testing activities, from the test specification to the test execution. This includes the bench design specifications including instrumentation and data acquisition equipments needs, bench manufacturing and assembly, commissioning, test conduction, data analysis and test report
  • Contributing to the testing verification activities needed for the flight test clearance
  • Being responsible of test execution, analysis and report
  • Creation of technical facts, problem reports and incident reports. Participation in the technical filter board
  • Performing project management activities such as e.g. setting routines to followup the progress and insure the consistency on technical and team levels, estimating costs and resources, leading Test Readiness Review
  • Insure the continuity in the testing activities by following and supporting the different testing levels (component, subsystem, systems, Demonstrator)


The responsibilities and the technical scope of the job might evolve according to the agile working environment of the project, so being flexible is important.

_What you bring:

  • At least 5 years experience in bench testing, ideally flight test activities
  • Background in different bench tests means development and commissioning activities, PR management for system / test means,
  • Experience in testing tools, data acquisition processing and test bench configuration management
  • Knowledge of different aircraft platforms and systems design
  • Knowledge in HW and SW applicable to Control and Monitoring systems
  • Experience in supplier activity management
  • Keen to take initiatives to propose simpler and efficient ways of working
