Airbus UpNext has the ambition to deliver a disruptive and innovative project to demonstrate the potential of a sustainable power generation source used onboard the aircraft.

This demonstrator will have a crucial role in determining the potential of hydrogen as an energy source in aviation.


This position is within the Airbus UpNext subsidiary in Spain and you are accountable for supporting and contributing to the execution strategy, organization, operations and performance of the Industrialization.


Mission


The demonstrator will integrate complex systems including power generation, electrical distribution and conversion, fuel storage and distribution, pneumatic and thermal systems.

Those systems will include novel technologies for aviation, and will be integrated in a new system with new operational constraints.

In order to validate and verify these systems, dedicated test means will be developed for this purpose.


As an End to End flight test coordinator, will be in charge of the test activities from the specification to the bench design, manufacturing and commissioning, up to the test executions within the given time, costs and objectives.


Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Coordination of flight test activities between Airbus UpNext and other Airbus entities
  • Test program definition and optimisation
  • Responsible for the Test Readiness Reviews for the different test campaigns (ground and flight phases)
  • Responsible for Instrumentation and test means specifications (list of parameters, specific test means, Ground Support Equipments)
  • Review of test requests (feasibility, required test means)
  • Contributing to ground test specification, optimisation and harmonization
  • Flight crew support (inputs) for documentation, e.g. Flight Test Risk Assessment, Flight Manual,
  • Creation of technical facts, problem reports and incident reports.
Participation to technical filter board.

  • Review with the stakeholders all relevant points from the checklist prior to tests
  • Performing project management activities such as e.g. setting routines to followup the progress and insure the consistency on technical and team levels, estimating costs and resources, leading Test Readiness Review
  • Insure the continuity in the testing activities by following and supporting the different testing levels (component, subsystem, systems, Demonstrator)

_What you bring __:

  • At least 10 years experience in flight testing
  • Ideally background in different bench tests means development and commissioning activities, PR management for system / test means,
  • Experience in testing tools, data acquisition processing and test bench configuration management
  • Knowledge of different aircraft platforms and systems design
  • Knowledge in HW and SW applicable to Control and Monitoring systems
  • Experience in flight test instrumentation.
  • Keen to take initiatives to propose simpler and efficient ways of working
