It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and is a hosting member of the PRACE European distributed supercomputing infrastructure. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science (life, earth and engineering sciences) under one roof, and currently has over 800 staff from 55 countries.

    Context And MissionKey Duties*
  • Support the European Relations travel arrangements of international partners participating in project events and help with the expenses claims of all international partners
  • Support the organisation of project events, and the preparation of communication materials for the project events
  • Support the organisation of the HPC summer school for international students
  • Support the preparation of visits by international delegations to BSC
  • Follow up on the administrative processes related to international collaboration
  • Support in other Department's actions and help the project assistant with the office tasks including calendar management, meeting organisation, drafting notes, distribute information and any other miscellanea including supporting the rest of the Director office

Requirements:

  • Education
  • University degree level or equivalent professional experience
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
  • Knowledge of IT tools: Office Suite, SAP
  • Experience in travel management (reservations, communication with travel agencies, etc.)
  • Minimum 2 years in a similar position
  • Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
  • Knowledge of European Union supported projects and additional preferential skill
  • Competences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks and work under set deadlines
  • Capacity to interact and build strong relations with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • High level of responsibility and discretion
  • Ability to organize and coordinate tasks

Conditions

  • The position will be located at BSC within the [department] Department
  • We offer a fulltime contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with stateoftheart infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures


Duration: Temporary
  • Maternity Leave. Aprox 6 months.
  • Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement
  • Starting date: ASAP
