The Role


The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team they will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and evaluation of programmes of care ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients.

In the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse/Team Leader the post holder will have continuing responsibility for the management and clinical leadership of the area including supervision, development and deployment of staff.

What we'll need you to bring

Registered Nurse with valid UK NMC Registration Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level Post graduate expertise within area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.

Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the area of practice.

Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within area of practice.

Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualificationThe post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative It would be great if you also haveExtensive Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (CCL) experience
Previous experience within an acute or critical care environment
Previous management and leadership experience
Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within cardiology

Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions and procedures associated with CCL, ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within CCLCommitment to on call service Contract typePermanentPart Time30hoursPlease note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

LocationThis role will be based in Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory within University Hospital Hairmyres.

From 1 April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37.5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.

NHS Lanarkshire will implement this change but it may not be possible to fully transition from 1 April and there may therefore be some areas of the organisation where implementation may take longer.

If the department is currently unable to safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety - you will, of course, be remunerated accordingly.

NHS Lanarkshire is committed to full implementation of the 37 hour working week across all areas as soon as it is safe to do so.
