Postdoctoral position to develop radiopharmaceuticals

targeting glioblastoma

Medical Molecur Imaging Research Group
Immuno-PET agents for imaging brain tumors have encountered significant challenges due to the difficulties
associated with their transport across the BBB and subsequent diffusion within the extracellular space of the
brain. In this project, our goal is to confront this challenge effectively through the use of a nanotechnology
strategy. We will take advantage of recent findings in the development of functionalized nanocarriers able to
circumvent the BBB, to design, develop and validate in vitro and in vivo new immuno-PET radiotracers for the
molecular diagnosis of brain tumors.

Non-invasive molecular diagnostics are fundamental to improve the management and treatment of brain
tumors. The development of these molecular imaging tools will facilitate diagnosis, provide information about
prognosis and identify therapeutic targets without the need to perform surgical procedures to obtain tissue
biopsies.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The applicant will work on the development and _in vitro/in vivo_ evaluation of new immuno-PET agents in
relevant preclinical models of human glioblastoma (non-humanized and humanized).

Education and qualifications:

Required:

  • PhD in Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy or Chemistry

Desired:

  • License to work in ionizing radiation facilities (supervisor or operator)
  • License for animal handling (FELASA or similar)

  • Fluency in English

Experience and knowledge:

Required:

  • Experience on radiopharmaceuticals labelling
  • Experience on imaging studies

Desired:

  • Experience in molecular biology and histology techniques (e.g. Western blotting, IHC, ELISA, cell culture, etc.).
  • Experience on rodents work (preclinical studies)

Main responsibilities and duties:

  • Setup different labelling procedures of radiopharmaceuticals
  • Carry out preclinical imaging studies
  • Image analysis
  • Collaborate with different consortium partners
  • Presentation of results in meetings and congresses

Labour conditions:

  • Fulltime/Parttime position: 40h/week.
  • Starting date: As soon as possible
  • Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our
