Job Description

To develop, debug, maintain, and test our products, whether they are existing ones, new modules on existing applications, or completely new products. Collaborate with various stakeholders (such as senior developers, dev managers, technical leads, analysts, testers, project managers, and product owners) to meet deadlines and maintain the required quality standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and build component-based applications in a web/internet environment, independently or in collaboration with other developers.
  • Enhance both new and existing applications, websites, web applications, and infrastructure.
  • Scope, implement, test, and deploy new features and versions of core applications, databases, and utilities.
  • Conduct hands-on coding and contribute to solution design.
  • Raise development cycle concerns, such as delays, blockers, or the need for further analysis.
  • Generate reports, manuals, and other documentation related to software status, operation, and maintenance as requested.
  • Document user requirements, develop user stories, and provide estimates when required.
  • Offer third-level support to business users.
  • Participate in code reviews and write technical design documents.
  • Contribute actively in reviews and technical design meetings, providing valuable feedback.
  • Adhere to company development policies.
  • Mentor Software Developer Engineers I.
  • Complete special projects and other assigned duties.
  • Participate in planning meetings, retrospectives, daily stand-ups, and other software development process-related meetings.
  • Update progress in company systems, including moving items to the right status and updating remaining efforts.
  • Learn about proper application design and security from senior team members.
  • Perform any other tasks corresponding to the role's grade.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred, with demonstrable related experience.
  • Familiarity with all stages of the software development life cycle.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming, unit and integration testing, data and relational databases, technical database design, web architecture, and application servers.
  • Strong documentation skills covering development, database design, application design, and ongoing modifications.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Sound knowledge of design patterns.
  • Deep understanding of performance and scalability considerations in the development process, along with experience working with performance monitoring tools.
  • Capability to install complex software patches and upgrades.
  • Ability to review code from others and offer feedback adhering to coding guidelines.
  • Skilled at providing estimates.
  • Proficiency in writing technical documents related to database and application design, and documenting changes and modifications.
  • Experience with N-tiered applications, multi-tier architecture, and production Internet architectures.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and learn continuously.
  • Capacity to design with operational costs in mind.
  • Desire to lead a workstream, overseeing a small team of developers.
  • Ability to conduct risk analysis.
  • Capable of independent productivity, tackling tasks autonomously while knowing when to seek assistance.
