Job Description:
  • To write, debug, maintain and test products, work on existing ones, new modules on current applications, or entirely new products. Collaborate with other stakeholders (senior developers, dev managers, technical leads, analysis, test, project management, product owners) to meet deadlines and ensure quality.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Designs and builds component-based applications in a web/internet delivery environment, individually or with other developers.
  • Works on new and existing applications, and enhances websites, web applications, and infrastructure.
  • Scopes, implements, tests, and deploys new features and versions of core applications, databases, and utilities.
  • Performs hands-on coding, assists in designing solutions, and raises issues during the development cycle.
  • Prepares reports, manuals, and other documentation on software status, operation, and maintenance.
  • Provides documentation of user's requirements and development of user stories when needed.
  • Assists with providing third-level support to business users, code reviews, and writing design technical documents.
  • Participates actively in reviews, technical design meetings, and provides valuable feedback.
  • Follows company policies regarding development, mentors Software Developers, and participates actively in planning meetings and other software development process meetings.
  • Updates progress in the systems, learns from senior team members, and completes special projects and other assigned duties.
  • Designs considering operational costs and ability to lead a work stream and provide estimates.
  • Ability to do a risk analysis, install complex software patches and upgrades, and review code written by others providing feedback.
  • Independently productive, can face most tasks alone and understands when to ask for help.
  • Any other duties as per the role's grade.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, along with relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of all phases of the software development life cycle and expertise in object-oriented programming concepts, unit & integration testing, and web architecture.
  • Strong skills in documenting development, design patterns, and performance and scalability implications.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies, experience with N-tiered applications, and ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
  • Ability to write technical documents, provide estimates, and analyze risks.
