WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
We need someone like you to help us in different fronts:
- Oversee compliance with benchmarks regulatory obligations across the Group,ensuring that the roles and responsibilities assigned to 1LoD and 2LoD in the procedures are properly embedded.
- Define internal policies and procedures to comply with benchmarks regulatory requirements and support global businesses and local units to implement them.
- This includes capabilities such as: exposures monitoring, benchmark inventory update, regulatory monitoring, benchmark lifecycle management, fallback plan update, fallback compliance monitoring, risk assessment monitoring, robust written plan update.
- Definition of KPIs to measure compliance of regulatory requirements across the Group and report them as part of Governance Forums.
- Provide global overview of the risk involved with use of the benchmarks by the Group (focus in EU) based on an indepth analysis (benchmarks missing robust plans, third country benchmarks which need an equivalence decision, those whose methodology will be revised, etc.).
- Provide advice and assessment to global businesses and local units on BMR compliance related matters.
- Support internal and external audits where required.
- Tracking and analysis of benchmark regulations ́changes for applicability to business and compliance implications, including a horizon scanning of benchmarks which will cease to exist, those which will be reformed, etc.
- Monitoring and ensuring that the attributes of individual benchmarks in the benchmark inventory are updated and regular monitoring of fallback plans.
- Participate in governance forums where benchmarks related matters are discussed.
- Acting as the first point of contact in the corporation on benchmark related matters.
- Support any internal benchmark reporting to the Group.
- Contributing to compliance processes by identifying opportunities for improved adherence to regulatory requirements and Group standards.
- Coordinate Group's responses with regulators when required.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years of experience in wholesale banking industry, with experience in compliance role.
- Other: Experience and understanding of IBOR transition and Benchmarks regulation (BMR) would be desirable.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor degree required (Administration/Law). Master or certificate in regulatory compliance is valued.
- Global business vision: Capacity to understand local customisation needs across geographies whilst maintaining guidelines and best practice.
- Coordination and leading skill: Capacity to coordinate different business units across geographies to implement corporate standars and best practise to comply with Benchmarks Regulation.
- Organisational skills: Capacity to manage time and deadlines, prioritise tasks,keep track of steps in procedures.
- Analytical skills: Capacity to identify the gaps and problem rootcauses across each countries implementing model, suggesting the appropriate correction or Improvement measures.
- Languages: Spanish, English
