Eurovision Services Madrid is looking for a Project Leader - Digital to join the Eurovision Services (ES) Global Operations & Engineering team at our technology hub in Madrid, Spain.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION
In this role as a Project Leader - Digital, you will:

  • Play a key role in the positioning of PMO within operations and the whole organization by acting as an ambassador to the team
  • Provide permanent feedback to the Manager of PMO to improve and further develop existing methodologies, tools and processes
  • Take over multiproject responsibilities and handle individual workload accordingly
  • Be able to define and implement a transverse concept allowing to listen to market, commercial needs and internal contributions
  • Have strong capacities of creating the necessary forums to capture needs/ideas, assess pertinence and capture all related aspects in recommendations for Management
  • Be a convinced teamplayer able to bring together different point of views and use this as an asset to the organization by extracting constructive ideas.
  • Have the ability to challenge and investigate ideas to be able to assess futureproofing and relevance for the organization
  • Establish project timelines and milestones for all involved parties, track and followup on these.
  • Set up project competencies landscapes and request to head of units the necessary project team members by defining requests including scope, expected tasks, timescale and workload
  • Perform transparent and efficient communication within the project team and broader organization, and ensure all project members are in line with a common objective and delivery target
  • Drive the project team during all stages of the project delivery
  • List necessary tasks, enter them in the relevant systems and track them to ensure completion in a timely manner
  • Perform regular Budget Reviews, track expenses made by the project team and make sure provisioned amounts are situated within the planned budget foreseen in the solution. In case of overruns or unforeseen costs, systematic escalation to Manager of PMO needs to take place.
  • Target constantly cost efficiency for all expenses made within the project by the project team and always reach financial objectives set by the Manager of PMO
  • Drive the project team in business, operational and human aspects and be able to handle complex or conflictloaded situations within a pressurized project environment.
  • Perform systematic Project closure by ensuring logístical and financial aspects are looked at and closed before being handed over to relevant stakeholder
  • Ensure a constructive and systematic debrief of each project by associating sponsor, provider, and project team. Structures the outcome and contributes to the overall improvement plan within PMO and OPS

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in similar project management roles within larger companies
  • Technical background on streaming technologies such as RTMP, HLS, SRT, DASH, security like DRM or geoblocking, systems like encoding, packaging, CDN, OTT platforms and more.
  • Understanding of the logic behind a streaming delivery chain, both B2B and B2B2C, from backend to frontend via Content Management Systems (CMS).
  • Have a clear view of the digital media landscape, especially over Europe.
  • Strong technical & market knowledge of the broadcasting industry in line with ES Business lines
  • Great background with live events streaming and sport production.
  • Strong communication skills to be able to communicate expected changes and deliverables organizationwide transparently and constantly by associating Operations, Procurement, Strategy and Global Sales
  • Strong skills in Change Management to be able to detect changes for all involved parties, prepare change, communicate and execute smooth transitions
  • Proven financial literacy, and ability to manage budgets efficiently
  • Impressive team player able to extract the best of each colleague
  • Demonstration of strong coordination and delivery culture
  • Strong ability to work on multiproject dimensions within pressurized environments
  • Motivated by challenges and implementation of new best practices and processes

ADDED VALUE
Additional experience in the following areas would be a bonus:

  • Experience working collaboratively with geographically distributed and international teams (our headquarters are located in Switzerland)
  • Some experience in working on live sports events in a broadcasting environment
  • PMP certification
  • French language knowledge

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Business, Telecommunications Engineering or similar degree.
