Data Privacy Manager EMEA
The Data Privacy Manager EMEA will collaborate transparently with business units and corporate center functions to ensure alignment between compliance goals and business priorities. Responsible for maintaining, enhancing, communicating and auditing Westinghouse's privacy program, promoting compliance with applicable privacy, data, and information protection laws. Also, leading internal outreach programs, key initiatives, cross-border transfer mechanisms, program requirements, and strategic tools for the global privacy program.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize expertise to take ownership of aspects of the global data privacy compliance program supporting adherence to Westinghouse privacy requirements in EMEA.
- Ensure the global data privacy program aligns with Westinghouse strategy and business objectives.
- Develop and enhance global policies and procedures of Westinghouse's privacy program in accordance with local applicable data privacy laws, including tools for ensuring business processes and data exchanges adhere to global policies and procedures.
- Evaluate EMEA program risks and exposures critically and manage professionals to implement mitigation strategies when necessary.
- Lead key privacy and business initiatives, document privacy risks transparently to stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Strategically work with internal and external stakeholders within EMEA and globally with Data Privacy colleagues to support Westinghouse's privacy goals.
- Influence others to understand data privacy requirements, demonstrate flexibility, strong judgment, decision-making skills, analyze trade-offs, and make recommendations in ambiguous situations.
- Manage, investigate, and document privacy incidents, conduct special investigations and inquiries as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of working experience, along with demonstrated experience in Privacy, technology policy, compliance/risk management roles.
- IAPP practitioner certification (CIPP/E) or similar.
- Expert in Data Privacy, able to operate internationally, demonstrate strategic thinking, influence leadership business decisions.
- Working knowledge of privacy principles, national privacy regulations, and ability to work on complex projects or problems.
- Ability to manage professionals, externally develop policy and strategy, experience in the technology industry.
- Self-starter, able to produce specific results, work across teams, partner effectively with individuals from diverse professional backgrounds.
- Flexibility in managing varying workloads, unpredictable processes, and repetitious tasks.
