We are looking for a Chemical Engineer graduate with at least 1 year of experience in Product development or process engineering in the fats and oils industry, Food processing and unit operations in the food industry.

Job purpose
To carry out multidisciplinary technical activities required by the operation in order to succeed in the market through quality-compliant products, effective technical collaborations, technical support to clients, effective projects, and delivery of innovative solutions
The department and reporting
The R&D Deployment Engineer will be working for the Technical department of Alianza Team Europe® and reporting to the Technical Director of Alianza Team Europe, who will be occasionally located in the Netherlands or remotely at the Alianza Team® headquarter in Bogota-Colombia. The Technical department primary focusses are:
- Process engineering: deployment of innovations as real processes delivering real products, process diagnose and Cpk analysis. Process optimization
- Quality: technical partnering and co-working with suppliers and co-makers to manufacture and achieve product quality compliance
- R&D: execution of technical activities and innovation projects (internal or external with CROs), prototyping, food applications and demonstrations to clients, technical support to clients
The department interacts with the corporate R&D centers of Alianza Team® and external partners to obtain guidance, technical support, R&D services, contract R&D projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for all activities related to identification, implementation, and verification of process and equipment improvements
- Provide technical support in trouble shooting and root cause analyses
- Support and participate in continuous improvement programs
- Deploy innovation projects at a manufacturing scale
- Assure product quality compliance
- Execute the activities involved in Quality Agreements signed and committed with external partners
- Prototype and deliver samples to clients as requested by the technical Director
- Carry out applications and product demonstrations to clients
In this position you are primarily responsible for
- Implement at an industrial level new developments issued by central or local R&D
- Create laboratory prototypes locally as required by the Technical Director
- Coordinate and execute R&D projects under the leadership of the technical Director and I coordination with the Alianza Team® R&D continuum
- Execute product applications and give out product demonstrations to clients
- Pro-actively seek opportunities that are data driven and makes use of statistical data analysis for diagnosis and improvement of process and product with the goal to release capacity, improve quality and reduce costs
- Implement necessary technical actions to improve product quality or process efficiency
- Remain in communication and contact with manufacturing partners in the Netherlands to provide technical recommendations and to validate compliance of the agreements
- Review the alignment of the agreements with partners and propose adjustment actions.
- Carry out all activities described in the quality agreements under the responsibility of the technical representative of Alianza Team.
- Keep under control the KPIs set for the co-manufacturing operations and quality compliance
- Address claims jointly with our manufacturing partners
- Maintain records and submit monthly reports to the corporation.
- Present monthly reports on product, intermediate, raw material, and ingredient inventories related to specific products and processes in third parties
Job Requirements
Technical domain:
- Fats & oils applied science and technology
(1 year of experience in Product development or process engineering in the fats and oils industry) Food processing and unit operations in the food industry
- Food applications and categories
- Food chemistry and Microbiology
- Food analysis methods
- Food emulsions
- Statistics
- Quality assurance and quality control methodologies
- Familiar with GMP standards and process environment in the food industry
At least Bachelor level in Chemical engineering or Food Science
Experience in R&D and/or manufacturing in the fats&oils industry
Outstanding communication and presentation skills in English. Communication in Spanish is desirable
