At ING we are looking for a Business Manager for Wholesale Banking Spain and Portugal

Your role and work environment:


As Business Manager you are involved and contribute to the strategic decision making at a senior level in the bank.

This role provides you broad insight in the global ING organization. You will operate on a strategic, tactical, and operational level. You act as a linking pin for other business units across the network globally.


You will work directly with the Head of WB and the Chief Strategy Officer; as well as with key stakeholders, such as Finance, HR, Risk, Communications, COO locally and in Head Office to advance WB's strategy and ensure targets are achieved.


Your key responsibilities:


Ensure the coordination and connection of the different WB teams and centres of expertise to ensure the alignment of the different areas, facilitating collaboration and making things happen.


Prepare and participate in WB management team meetings: Safeguarding the quality and the relevance of the discussions, facilitating decision-making, drafting minutes, setting up and monitoring action plans, in close co-operation with executive assistants.

HR and the teams.


Act as sounding board, advising (also unasked), challenging, and supporting the Head of WB in developing the WB agenda and on day-to-day activities.


Represent the WB organization's interests, feelings, and concerns in front of the management team and actively participating in several bank projects.


Act as linking pin and ensuring smooth connection and alignment with other domains of the bank (Finance, COO, Risk, etc).

Monitor WB & HR KPIs and performance for internal and external use.

What are we looking for?


A highly organized, delivery-oriented, all-round Business Manager to the Head of Wholesale Banking Spain and Portugal, who embraces challenges in a fast-paced, dynamic, and international environment.


  • Master or comparable degree
  • Min. 3 years of working experience in Wholesale Banking or an equivalent work environment
  • High clients
- & results orientation

  • Strong analytical skills, numerical rigor, meticulous in preparing deliverables
  • Solid coordination, project management and influencing skills
  • Excellent skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and presentationbuilding (storylining)
  • Able to prepare concise and robust analyses, briefings & overviews
  • Professional communication and networking skills in English
  • Balanced, pragmatic and independent team player
  • Very structured, can set priorities and timemanagement capabilities
