The _in vivo_ Malaria Biology Group comprises a multidisciplinary biology team that utilizes deep scientific knowledge and technical capabilities to discover new antimalarial drugs.
It is based in Tres Cantos (Spain) working in close contact with other groups (DMPK, modelling, in vitro teams, chemists, project teams,), and participates in several international consortia and external collaborations.
We are seeking a highly motivated technician with high experience in working with small animals, specifically mice.This is a temporal position to work with murine models for malaria in a in vivo team which includes other groups for TB, enteric diseases, and an insectarium.
You will work in a group of several technitians where you will have the opportunity to learn how to work with malaria infected mice under BSL3 conditions.
Key responsibilities/activities:
- Must have proven experience in animal models of disease. Work within a team.
- Performs sampling and processing of biological specimens form experimental animals.
- Performs techniques of administration of substances to animals.
- Performs analytical assays using biological samples.
- Keep accurate data of assays.
- Has strong awareness of the principles, regulations and procedures for safe laboratory working.
Qualifications/ Minimum Required (Education/Experience/Competencies):
- Graduate in Life Sciences with research experience.
- Experience in rodent handling (Category B).
Preferred Qualifications:
- If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:_
- Desirable experience in flow cytometry analysis.
- Desirable expperience in qPCR analysis
- Desirable experience in safety working in BSL 23 conditions.
- Desirable experience working with In vivo imaging systems.
