Your mission
Lionfish is a highly private, managed services and data centre hosting facility.

We offer an array of different products and services including cloud, co-location, managed security and many other 'as a' services.

Our business is made up of diverse, highly skilled people who enable our customers and their businesses by matching the right solutions to their technology needs.

The IT Services Group is at the heart of the value chain for Lionfish.

Working alongside our Product, Cyber Security and Service Delivery functions, ITSG provide business-critical IT services to a wide community of clients and internal users.

ITSG covers a range of services from Desktop Support through to Data Centre, Engineering and Architecture functions.


Working collaboratively with the Senior Director of IT, you will provide leadership to all aspects of ITSG Service Operations including managing people, projects, technology and process.

This position is a key member of the ITSG Leadership team, and you will be working alongside the Director of Architecture & Director of Engineering to ensure that ITSG is delivering the best outcomes it can for its external and internal customers, and its staff.


The successful Director of Service Operations will build and lead service management, operations & technical teams (consisting of managers, specialists, contractors and third-party vendors) to ensure all service levels are maintained, including a high degree of system up-time, coupled with a demonstrated ability to deliver change and projects within time, scope and budget.


What you'll do

  • Responsible for the planning and design of all IT Services needed to support Information Technology including data centre facilities, telephony, conferencing, telecommunications, network, storage, databases, server and desktop systems, collaboration technologies and cloud platforms etc.
  • Manage and resolve challenges with executing tactical initiatives and maintaining strategic direction.
  • Develop, implement and evolve the IT Service Operations processes, systems, & maintain a fit for purpose environment with resiliency that meets the rapidly growing needs of the organization and its customers.
  • Participate in technology / project planning sessions, and work with Service Operations Managers and Project Managers to ensure ontime implementation of infrastructure solutions.
  • Accountable for the execution of appropriate change enablement solutions to minimize downtime on production systems.
  • Ensure all Information Technology adheres to applicable disaster recovery and business continuity policies, as set by Executive direction.
  • Accountable for Operational Risk Management across the ITS function.
  • Build & maintain a reporting infrastructure with timely, accurate data that allows for Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to be monitored, measured, and reported.
  • Implement tactical modifications to ensure target objectives are met.
  • Work to achieve service levels and communicate results to key stakeholders.

What you'll bring

  • You will have excellent service management and operations experience, technical knowledge, interpersonal abilities and strategic vision.
  • You have experience leading large service operations teams managing & supporting consumer facing products & services.
  • You understand how to create strategic alignment with multiple partners and teams.
  • You possess a strong technical background, ideally building high availability systems that operate at scale.
