Position Overview:
As our operations expand in Málaga, we seek an ambitious, skilled and detail-oriented Head of Finance reporting to the Finance Director. The successful candidate will be pivotal in managing and optimising the Club’s financial performance. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills who can drive financial initiatives that support the Club's growth and stability. Primary Responsibilities
Financial Strategy and Planning: Working with the Finance Director to develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the Club's overall business goals. Lead long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.Financial Reporting and Analysis: Oversee preparing and presenting accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses to the senior management team. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.Budget Management: Manage the budgeting process, including tracking expenditures, variances, and performance against budget. Provide actionable insights to improve cost efficiency and financial performance.Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks. Develop robust internal controls and procedures to safeguard the Club's assets.Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow planning and ensure funds are available. Optimize the investment of surplus funds and manage banking relationships.Investment Oversight: Working with the Finance Director to evaluate and recommend investment opportunities and monitor and manage the performance of existing investments to ensure optimal returns.Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Ensure the team is equipped to meet the Club’s evolving needs.Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Accounting, Property Management, and Member Services, to support their financial needs and enhance operational efficiency.Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial performance and strategic recommendations to key stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, investors, and Club members.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with local, national, and international regulations. Stay updated on changes in economic legislation and best practices.Qualifications:
Language skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities in English, advantageous with a second language.
Professional Certification: A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; an MBA or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is preferred.
Financial expertise: Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role, preferably in real estate or hospitality, with at least five-plus years of experience in accounting and financial planning.
Analytical skills: Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations. Ans exceptional analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
Communication skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Technical proficiency: Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Previous experiences: Management experience is beneficial, demonstrating the ability to lead a financial team, drive strategic initiatives, and optimise financial operations.
Adaptability: Ability to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
