Nextlane is the leading European publisher of software solutions for automotive distribution. We are supporting the digitalization of automotive distribution and strengthening our teams in charge of development projects for a new generation of products.


Context of the position:

As the Head of IT Infrastructure, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's IT infrastructure. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that our technological systems are robust, secure, and capable of supporting our business operations effectively. You will lead a team of IT professionals and collaborate closely with other departments to align infrastructure strategies with business objectives.


Main missions:


Strategic Planning and Architecture Design


Develop and execute strategies for the continuous improvement and scalability of our IT infrastructure to meet the evolving needs of the organization. This includes defining the architecture of systems and technologies, designing robust and scalable solutions, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.


Infrastructure Management


Oversee the day-to-day operations of our IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and cloud services, to ensure reliability, performance, and security.


Team Leadership


Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.


Vendor Management


Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure quality service delivery and cost-effectiveness.


Security and Compliance


Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect our infrastructure from internal and external threats and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.


Project Management


Coordinate infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new implementations, to deliver on time and within budget.


Performance Monitoring and Optimization


Monitor key performance indicators and implement measures to optimize the performance and efficiency of our infrastructure. Continuously refine the overall architecture of systems to align with organizational goals, industry best practices, and emerging technologies.


Main interfaces with other teams / departments:


The Head of IT will engage collaboratively with various teams across the organization to ensure seamless coordination. Key interfaces include:


IT Operations Team


Coordinate with the IT operations team to address infrastructure requirements, optimize system performance, and implement changes with minimal disruption to business operations.


Business Stakeholders


Collaborate closely with business leaders, department heads, and end-users to understand their requirements, gather feedback, and align IT initiatives with business objectives.


IT Development Team


Work closely with software developers, engineers, and architects to ensure smooth deployment, integration, and maintenance of application products, as well as to provide input on future enhancements and upgrades.


Project Management Office (PMO)


Partner with the PMO to manage project timelines, resource allocation, and budgetary considerations for application support and enhancement initiatives.


Effective communication and collaboration with these teams are crucial.


Required skills:


-Technical skills:


· In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, technologies, and best practices.

· Proficiency in server administration, virtualization, and cloud computing platforms.

· Strong understanding of storage technologies, backup and disaster recovery strategies.

· Experience with IT security principles and practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability management.

· Familiarity with ITIL framework and IT service management processes.

· Project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and monitor infrastructure projects.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

· Strong technical background with proficiency in troubleshooting, system administration, and software deployment.

· Security Practices: Cybersecurity and risk assessments.

· IT Operations: Operational processes alignment.

· Change Management: Smooth transitions and cultural shifts.

· Financial Management: Budgeting, reporting, and resource allocation.
