About the location:The Four Seasons Resort Mallorca is perched on the spectacular Formentor Peninsula and backed by panoramic vistas of the Mediterranean and the surrounding landscapes, the hotel was originally opened in 1929 within an expansive private estate. Currently undergoing restoration and renovation, this stunning historic property is scheduled to open its doors as a Four Seasons resort in June 2024.

About the role

Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor is looking for a Front Desk Supervisor. Candidates with a passion for excellence, and proven leadership experience are invited to apply. Will perform the following duties: welcoming and registering hotel guests, explaining the accommodations, and establishing credit or method of payment. Checks guest out of the hotel, preparing and explaining the bill. Responds to a wide variety of guest requests by accurately assessing the guest needs and requests and then adding personal recommendations and touches to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all Four Seasons’ policies. The Front Desk Supervisor oversees and organizes the team's daily duties and workflow. This position reports to the Assistant Front Office Manager.

What you will do

Supervising employees, assigning duties, and making sure that the daily checklist is completed correctly.

Monitoring team performance and ensuring duties are performed efficiently.

Reporting any issues that arise during the shift to management.

Ensuring compliance with company policies, health, and safety standards.

Coaching team members and training new staff.

Handling customer minor complaints and reports them to higher management.

Checks guests in and out in an efficient and friendly manner, using the guest name whenever possible.

Assures that guests are assigned the type of room requested and the correct rate is charged.

Issues correct keys to the guest and arranges for luggage to be delivered to guest room.

Ascertains guest satisfaction.

Settles bill accurately through credit card or cash transaction.

Utilizes a variety of computer systems to check guests in and out, runs daily reports, selects and block rooms for arriving guests.

Complies with Four Seasons Standards and Code of Conduct as set forth in Employee Handbook.

Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers, supervisors and GSAs.

Coordinates arrivals, departures and billing requirements with Sales and Catering Department.

Blocks rooms for arrivals and ensures any discrepancies are resolved.

Reviews daily arrivals to ensure proper handling of Special Attention Guests, Return Guests, and Groups.

Assures that all financial and credit procedures are followed.

Takes action in all matters related to the safety, security, satisfaction and well-being of hotel guests and employees when managers are not available. Responds swiftly and effectively in any hotel emergency or safety situation.

Assists customers in all inquiries in connection with hotel services, hours of operations, key hotel personnel, in-house events, directions, etc. Responds to all guest requests in an accurate and timely manner. Interaction with guests will be in person and by phone.

Accepts reservations, changes and cancellations in the absence of Reservations Department Staff. Can answer guest calls and direct them appropriately in the absence of a Communications Operator.

Performs any other duties as assigned to him/her by management and is also able to work in all shifts including night shift.

Assists with responsibilities and duties in the absence of or due to heavy volume in the areas of the Concierge, Bell Staff, Guest Relations and lobby coverage. Works closely with Bell Staff to ensure smooth handling of guest luggage, deliveries and special requests.

Works closely with housekeeping team to ensure smooth handling of room allocation, balance inventory and room is met with guest’s preference and ready for check in upon arrival.

Works closely with Engineering to ensure for the completion of any guest’s related maintenance issues are resolved and control room preventive maintenance program.

What you bring

Our ideal Front Desk Supervisor has a firm knowledge of hotel operations and must have 2 years of experience in Supervision in Rooms Division. Candidates must speak Spanish as well as being fluent in English.

Schedule & Hours:

Full time contract, 40 hours per week. Rotating shifts from Monday to Sunday

Must have the legal permission to work in Spain.
