The Good Food Markets offer local produce at affordable prices to members of our community.

We run several markets each week in different locations within NDG What we are offering: Practical experience in organizational and logistical planning needed to run a produce market and providing customer service; Experience working with a welcoming and dynamic team; chance to build confidence and gain autonomy.

Responsibilities/Tasks: Helping with the setting up and dismantling of the markets, chat with customers, give advice, sell market products, operate the market cash register; Participate in various logistical tasks in the food distribution department programs.

What we are looking for: Comfortable speaking and reading in French and/or English (additional language an asset); In good physical shape, able to stand for several hours at a time, able to carry heavy loads; comfortable working outdoors; Ability to work efficiently as a member of a team; comfortable interacting with people.

About the Depot*: Founded in 1986, The Depot is a community-based non-profit organization (NPO) that works collaboratively with its community to address the root causes of hunger and poverty in NDG and the surrounding areas, in a manner that ensures dignity, community engagement, and the development of human potential.

Eligibility and working conditions: This position is offered through the Canada Summer Jobs program.

Supervisor: Melanie Romer (Good Food Market Coordinator) Workplace: our markets in NDG (Montreal) Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, including Wednesday and Thursday evenings (up to 7:30 PM). Exact schedule to be discussed.
