We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Architect to drive technological transformation, effectively managing legacy and technical debt while overseeing the adoption of emerging technologies and cloud strategies, partnering with local technology teams and different lines of businesses across our international operations.


Job Description:


As Business Architect you will be part of the International Markets Technology Office which leads the IT Strategy vision, ensuring a proper management of IT Architecture and Technology activities.

You will perform a pivotal role to:


  • Define, design and govern the Business Enterprise Architecture to support the Business strategy and help our entities accomplish their business objectives.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to establish robust architectures, leveraging the AXA Group Principles and Standards, and supporting and providing coaching and guidance to entities towards the definition and creation of the required architecture discipline in each country.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for technology needs related to our different entities and lines of businesses. You will also act as a single point of contact for a set of entities, providing the necessary support they require.


Great communication skills will be essential as you will be required to effectively communicate complex architecture concepts, architectural designs, and implementation strategies to diverse stakeholders across multiple regions.


The Business Architect needs to have a very good understanding of the following:

  • Insurance Business and Tech environments / solutions in P&C, Health, Life, Commercial Lines.
  • Large knowledge on technology evolution.
  • Capacity to understand Insurance economics to define the appropriate Architecture Strategy trajectory aligned with Business and IT strategy.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead and management of the Business Enterprise Architecture aligned with the Business and IT strategy.
  • You will be also a custodian to define the Target Architecture Model according to the AXA Group Standards and Policies.
  • Provide advisory to the International Markets Chief Operations, Transformation & Technology Officer for decision making on the strategy definition.
  • Identification of key local transformation impacting the Architecture (support the local entity to define priorities, sequence of modernization, … ). You will ensure alignment between Business Strategy and IT Strategy with a strong focus on development of the Business Architecture function to address business processes definition, operating model definition and key operational KPI.
  • Support local CIOs and CTOs across International Market entities. You will ensure that Group Principles and Standards are well integrated at local level, participating in local Architecture Strategy definition.
  • Support the local entities to define the appropriate Architecture governance for large transformation initiatives.
  • Support entities’ Key projects during set up and some critical phases of the project to ensure success.
  • Foster regular exchanges with business teams to create the link between technologies and business strategies and priorities.
  • Communicate complex architecture concepts, architectural designs, and implementation strategies to diverse stakeholders through clear visualizations, reports, and presentations.
  • Simplify the enterprise architecture, delivering reusable services and cost-saving opportunities in line with the policies and standards of AXA.



Job Requirements:


Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or related quantitative field.
  • Certification in TOGAF will be highly valuated.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, to effectively collaborate and communicate with international teams and stakeholders.


Experience:

  • Strong experience in IT Strategy, Enterprise and Solution architecture.
  • Business knowledge of the Insurance, and ability to conduct research.
  • Experience on solutions architecture designs for very large projects/environments with good understanding of the Insurance Value chain.
  • Strong change management skills with practical experience of transformation in an international environment.
  • Strives for excellence with deliverables of high quality and ability to work in sometimes tight planning.
  • Demonstrates being a strong team member with a collaborative mind-set.
  • IT knowledge and understanding of related transformation disciplines (e.g. strategic planning, portfolio management, change management, etc.).


Skills:

  • Expert knowledge in Enterprise Architecture and IT strategy definition.
  • Ability to execute evolution of the Enterprise Architecture through strategic thinking, in addition to possessing strong business and technical acumen.
  • Expertise in Insurance Business related technologies (e.g.: API or Cloud).
  • Good understanding of emerging model or platform design needed to fit the new or emerging business models, operating models, and modern technologies such as platform business, API business, cloud architecture, master data management, distributed ledgers, artificial intelligence, and machine learning (or any new emerging technologies).
