Position: Managing Director


Overview: Flowtec are looking for a dynamic and purpose-driven Managing Director to lead the Spanish operation & manufacturing. In this key leadership role, you will define and execute the organization’s strategic direction, foster business growth, drive operational excellence, and ensure long-term sustainability. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, exceptional business insight, and the capacity to inspire and develop high-performing teams.


Reporting Structure: This position will report directly to the CEO


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Leadership: Set and implement a clear vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with the overall goals and values of the group. Spearhead initiatives that drive growth, expand market presence, and develop new opportunities within the valve industry.Operational Efficiency: Optimize business operations to meet company objectives, emphasizing customer satisfaction, efficiency, and productivity improvements. Adopt best practices to streamline processes, improve cost-effectiveness, and boost operational performance.Financial Oversight: Develop and oversee the organization’s budget, ensuring financial health and sustainability. Collaborate with the finance team to monitor financial performance, evaluate trends, and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.Leadership and Team Development: Build and manage a high-performing leadership team, offering guidance, coaching, and mentorship to achieve organizational goals. Cultivate a positive workplace culture that emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including customers, partners, and regulatory authorities. Serve as the external face of the organization, advocating for its mission and objectives in the wider industry and community.Risk and Compliance Management: Identify potential risks to the organization’s operations or reputation, implementing strategies to mitigate them. Ensure that all business activities are compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.Customer-Centric Focus: Maintain a thorough understanding of customer needs and industry trends to enhance the development of products and services, thereby improving customer satisfaction.


Immediate Objectives


Strengthen collaboration across departments, including intercompany.Resolve production planning challenges between day-to-day and project-focused work.Enhance customer satisfaction with improved response times, delivery performance, and quality.Drive top-line growth and achieve a 10% EBIT increaseImplement automation and robotics to elevate productivity.Foster a lean culture across the organization.Enhance the attractiveness of the company as an employer, retaining top talent.


Candidate Requirements:


Proven track record of leading and growing a business or division within the valve industry, with a focus on both production/logistics and sales.Strong leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to align business success with a purpose-driven approach and empower teams.Experience leading with empathy and fostering a collaborative culture.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, grounded in empathy and understanding.Strategic mindset with the ability to transform vision into practical action plans.Ability to thrive in a global, matrixed organization, engaging with international stakeholders.Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget management and financial analysis.


Qualifications:


Advanced degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field with a focus on production and logistics.Fluency in both English and Spanish is required; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
