Artelys España, the Spanish subsidiary of Artelys, is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Java back-end developer to join our team in Madrid.
Job description
As a member of our development team, you will be responsible for assisting us in the challenging development of our software solutions
Your main tasks will be to:
- Participate in the design and development of the backend of Artelys' software solutions.
- Make structural decisions to improve the quality, performance, and overall fit of the product,
- Train and support less experienced members of the team to help them grow into accomplished developers.
- Participate as a technical expert in high-level discussions about new features of Artelys Crystal software suite to expand its offering to new clients.
- Engage in the long-term maintenance and evolution of Artelys' software products.
Profile
You have at least 4 years of experience as a Java software developer and wish to apply your expertise to the development of high-impact software.
You are the ideal candidate if:
- You have a master's degree in computer science, Sofware Engineering or Applied Mathematics,
- You are familiar with advanced OOP concepts applied to backend development,
- You understand computational complexity and use it to improve the quality of your work,
- You are experienced in relational databases (preferably Postgre SQL),
Languages
Fluency in Spanish and in English (C1 as a minimum) is a must.
Other valuable skills
- You speak French
- You have knowledge of energy and/or transport sectors
Working conditions
- Permanent contract, managerial status with a 6-month probationary period,
- Up to 2 days of remote work per week,
- Flexible working hours,

- Offices located in the city center of Madrid.
Recruitment process
Step 1: An initial interview via video conference with the director of Artelys Spain and the technical director (1 hour and 45 minutes),
Step 2: A second interview via video conference with two other recruiters, as well as a brief 15-minute discussion with the CEO of Artelys (45 minutes + 30 minutes + 15 minutes),
Step 3: If your interviews are successful, we will invite you to visit our premises to make you an offer in person and introduce you to the work environment.
