At AD4Octogono we are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator with expertise in RabbitMQ and IBM MQ to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of messaging middleware systems. This role requires strong technical acumen, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to ensure the reliability and scalability of enterprise messaging solutions.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Install, configure, and manage RabbitMQ and IBM MQ environments to support business-critical applications.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Implement robust security measures, including access controls and encryption, to safeguard messaging systems.
  • Design and optimize messaging topologies for scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support application integration and ensure seamless message flow.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Stay current on the latest trends, tools, and best practices in messaging middleware technologies.

Requirements:
Required Skills and Experience:


  • Proven experience with RabbitMQ and IBM MQ administration.
  • Strong knowledge of message queue concepts, such as pub/sub, point-to-point, and message durability.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Anisble or PowerShell) for automation and system management.
  • Familiarity with operating systems like Linux and Windows Server.
  • A strong understanding of how applications operate in a distributed, highly available environment.
  • Good analytic troubleshooting skilled required diagnose problems and understand workflows.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines at times.
  • IMPORTANT: The timetable will be from 9 am to 6 pm (spanish time) and you will be an availability every month or month and half that will be covered from 6 pm to 7 am and will only be attender if a call arises, which are usually of simple incidents.


Nice to Have:


  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar).
  • Understanding of networking principles (e.g., TCP/IP, SSL/TLS) related to messaging systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or within a team.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD technologies as Jenkins, Git, Github actions, etc.
  • Knowledge of IBM Websphere Application Server, Websphere Liberty, IBM Http Server, Weblogic, Tomcat and Rabbit MQ advantageous.
  • Experience in containerized environments such as Docker, Openshift, or Kubernetes
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and messaging-as-a-service offerings.
