At Repsol Trading, we optimize the supply and marketing of positions. Our activity consists of the supply of crude oil and products for refining systems and other needs, the marketing of crude oil and products of our own production, their maritime transport, and the management of product hedges in the financial derivatives markets.

This is a strategic area in which we are looking to add a new member to the Biofuels team.

As trader, you will be a member of a dynamic Global Biofuels Team based in Europe (Madrid)


Mission:


Develop the commercial activity within its scope of responsibility, based on the analysis of the market, in the detection of opportunities and in the correct service to its clients, in order to meet the objectives and plans of the Business


Functions and Responsibilities:

Develop, negotiate and conclude biofuel trades in line with the company global strategy.

Deep focus on the European market, and knowledge of market flows that affects the European market.

Understand the flows and activity of relevant refiners and traders.

Analyze the market and build strategies either in physical or paper to maximize P&L profit.

Develop and maintain business relations with key counterparties and market players i.e. producers, refiners, traders and end-users to keep abreast of market developments and opportunities.

Active participation in a team P&L/value generation. Knowledge of price/pricing concepts & structure.

Good risk management and understanding of implied exposure and optimality within contracts and the overall book.

Provide accurate information to the management and key people in the company to facilitate decision making and reach the goals marked by the strategic plan.

Design and help to design hedging strategies for physical positions.

Communicate with traders and refinery personnel in Europe.

Assess customers’ credit terms and availability. Negotiate payment terms, tittle transfers and all key contract items to achieve closure.

Perform all of these activities to company standards within a highly controlled environment governed by external regulatory requirements as well as internal controls, together with a sustainability regulation compliance.

Communicate and develop remote (phone) business relationships.

Participate in digitalization.

Requirements:

Bachelor or master degree preferred.

5/7 years experience in Oil Trading Business.

High level of English required (C1-C2).

Record of achievements in physical and paper activity either Biofuels, or any other physical product.

Understanding of refinery schemes and processes and European refining systems and demand.

Understanding of shipping / chartering activity. Blending, storage operations will be valued.

Deep understanding of refining supply and refining economics.

Proven commercial and innovative mindset.

Ability to work in a multi-cultural and in a fast paced work environment.

Knowledge of Sustainability regulations.
