As an Accountant Specialist, you'll play a vital role within the Accounts Team, ensuring day-to-day accounting and controls, compiling monthly management accounts, and effectively completing various month-end tasks.

We expect candidates for this role to be highly motivated and capable of both independent work and collaboration within a team. Managing multiple tasks while upholding accuracy and meeting strict deadlines and accounting standards is essential.

We're seeking an experienced Accountant Specialist to oversee accounting operations, including verifying financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, ensuring legal compliance, and analyzing taxation scenarios within our business context. Successful candidates will possess excellent analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and experience in team management or collaboration. Accountant Specialist responsibilities also encompass ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all accounting tasks.

The Accountant Specialist role involves numerous responsibilities and challenges:

  • Collaborating with the accounting team to manage all accounting procedures in line with company standards, local tax, and accounting regulations.
  • Overseeing treasury functions to maintain liquidity, develop cash forecasts, and analyze deviations.
  • Participating in the budgeting process, analyzing figures, ensuring accurate forecasts, and addressing deviations.
  • Contributing to the reporting process to the parent company, providing tax advice, and managing fixed asset bookings and depreciation calculations.
  • Adhering to tax regulations, VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax, and accounting rules.
  • Coordinating projects, preparing statutory reports and statistics, analyzing key financial data, and offering solutions to accounting issues.
  • Managing monthly and yearly cut-offs, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and expense analysis.
  • Addressing internal and external audit requirements, identifying errors, proposing efficiency improvements, and staying updated on industry developments.
  • Providing input into department and company goals, collaborating across borders, guiding colleagues in daily tasks, and facilitating training as needed.

Your personal attributes should also include:

  • Attainment of a university degree or higher education in Business Administration (or a related field).
  • Proficiency in Excel and Power BI, along with familiarity with SAP.
  • Essential fluency in both written and oral English.
  • Accumulation of 5 years of experience in Accounting or Audit in a similar capacity, with a solid grasp of local legal requirements (preferably with the last two years spent in a Spanish company).
  • Demonstrated strength in analytical and accounting skills, coupled with goal-oriented drive and initiative, a keenness for learning, adeptness at managing high workloads, effective organizational and planning capabilities, proficient delegation and leadership skills, self-motivation and inspiration, articulate and persuasive communication abilities, and embodying our company values as a role model.
  • Remote Work Option: 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week, with the opportunity for 2 weeks of remote work annually.
