Participate in the OSPF project,which is the core element of the Galileo mission chain (first generation). Theobjective of OSPF is to calculate navigation for the Galileo positioningservice.

We are looking for an engineerwith computer and/or telecommunications skills, to join the RTMC (Real TimeMonitoring and Control) team, one of the sub-elements of the OSPF, which is incharge of the actual IT parts of the element, such as:

The management of processsynchronisation and real time.

The m anagement of input andoutput data, the definition and maintenance of the system scheduler, theoperability and configuration of the system.

Hardware and operating systemmanagement.

The current phase of the projectincludes the virtualisation of OSPF, which consists of migrating the systemfrom a specific hardware and operating system to a standard solution based onvmware and Linux.

RTMC functions:

- Manage process synchronisation(threads, signals, semaphores, shared memory) and ensure real-time processing.
- Managing input and outputdata, including format transformation and encoding
- Define and maintain the systemscheduler
- Operate and configure thesystem (snmp, ftp, commanding, ...)
- Manage hardware and operatingsystem (both ad-hoc real-time)

Own virtualisation functions:

- Identify OSPF elements thatwould be impacted by the change of architecture and operating system, analysingsource code, documentation and system requirements.
- Adapting the developmentenvironment, compiler and application start-up to the new environment
- Deploy and configure virtualmachines on vmware and the internal network for the system, ensuringconnectivity, security and performance
- Eliminate unneededhardware/software elements in the new solution, simplifying the architecture
- Migrate the system to the newarchitecture and operating system, including libraries, resources andnetworking, making the necessary changes to code, configurations and scripts
- Optimise and adjust theresources (cpu, ram) of the system, monitoring the usage and applying theappropriate measures.

For this position, we arelooking for engineers with experience and interest in software development,space and satellite navigation systems. With experience and/or knowledge of:

Software engineering:
- Requirements analysis
- Design of evolutions
- Integration
- Incident management
- Software verification andvalidation
- Documentation update
- Participation in milestones
- C programming and Linuxknowledge

We value

- Knowledge of operating systems (semaphores, shared memory, processes, threads, system calls, sockets,networks, etc).
- Experience working on embeddedsystems
- Experience working at lowlevel with operating systems
- Knowledge of vmware andvirtualised systems
