The role
ALS Geochemistry requires a Maintenance Carpenter to join the Geochemistry Perth team in Malaga .

This Full-Time position will be reporting to the Facilities Manager and would suit a person willing and able to turn their hand to any general maintenance tasks found in a laboratory facility and likes to work on various building projects that don’t just include carpentry or construction.

Those with knowledge and experience in trades other than their own (e.g., welding, plumbing, tiling, painting, and demolition) would be at an advantage.

The successful applicant will receive on-the-job training in all aspects of laboratory equipment routine maintenance to ensure they fully understand the task and always comply with ALS HSE policy. 

A high level of communication will be required in this role as the successful candidate must be able to liaise directly and promptly with other maintenance team members, section supervisors and Facilities Management regarding equipment issues or downtime. 

This role allows the employee to expand their skill base into the maintenance and/or repairs of all on-site equipment.

The Essentials

Relevant Trade Certificate (Carpentry and/or Joinery). Ability to read drawings, build small structures, stud walls, hang doors etc. is essential. Current driver's licence (C class) manual. Fabrication experience would be beneficial but not essential. Knowledge and skills in other trades or a desire to learn. Flexibility to travel between sites. Flexibility to do occasional overtime on weekends. The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while being committed to working as a team. Excellent work ethic.
