Postdoctoral Position at the CRG/UPF Proteomics Unit

The role

A postdoctoral position is open at the CRG/UPF Proteomics Unit in Barcelona to work on the proteome characterization of model cell lines, primary cultures, and human biopsies from atopic dermatitis using nano-HPLC and mass spectrometry. The successful applicant will become a part of an international team of scientists, which is working closely with scientists at the Parc de Recerca Biomèdica de Barcelona.

We are looking for highly motivated and organized candidates with previous experience in molecular biology, mass spectrometry, proteomics and similar analytical techniques. Candidates must have good communication skills, capable of working in a group, and with a high degree of work autonomy. The following aspects will be preferred and will be taken into account when selecting candidates:

Professional experience

Must Have 

– Education and training
– PhD in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, Biochemistry or related disciplines.

Technical skills required 
– Previous experience in mass spectrometry-based proteomics.
– Previous experience in proteomics sample preparation and data analysis.

Languages 
– Fluent level of English

Desirable but not required/ Nice to have 
– Previous experience in proteomics.
– Analytical skills and critical thinking.
– Capability of working independently and in a team.
– Good skills with office automation and data analysis software.

The Offer – Working Conditions 

– Contract duration: Technical and scientific activities contract – estimated project duration 2 years.
– Estimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales.
– Target start date: ASAP 2024
