Job Description
We are currently seeking a high-energy, self-motivated and career-oriented Pilot Equipment Manager (PEM) to support any equipment construction, upgrade, and maintenance activities on our pilot equipment fleet.. The pilot equipment manager will be reporting to the European Pilot Group Leader.
The PEM will manage the execution of equipment construction and upgrade activities in the pilot fleet utilized for state-of-the-art pilot projects around VWTS’ leading membrane technology portfolio, such as submerged and pressurized UF, MBR, MABR, NF, RO and Electrodialysis Technologies.
Aside the opportunity to develop hands-on experience with these advanced treatment technologies, the position allows for developing basic project management skills, direct interaction with customers on project management and operations level. Internally will have the opportunity to collaborate with experts from diverse functions, for example Process engineering, Sales engineers and Product management.
The main role of the PEM include the following tasks :
Support any equipment construction/upgrade activities (including preparation of CAPEX Requests, completion of basic engineering packages, liaising with detailed engineering subcontractors). Project Manage any equipment construction/upgrade activities. Maintain up-to-date equipment documentation on the appropriate Pilot Folder location: Pilot-specific drawings (P&ID, Electrical, Footprint, GAs, Fabrication, etc.)

Upload images of PLC and Scada-HMI program after modifications
In-house initial testing of new pilot equipment – working with mechanical, electrical & programming subcontractors to resolve problems. In-house processing of pilot equipment that returns from the field (routine maintenance, complete mechanical/electrical upgrades, factory acceptance testing, supervise uploading new program versions to PLC/SCADA). Assist in the preparation of spare parts for emergency shipments to field sites. Forecast yearly shop budget (with Europe Pilot Group Manager); operate shop within that budget. Maintain (update inventory) spare parts warehouse. Provide support to the FAT of new pilot equipment. Coordinate (through shop technicians) pilot maintenance when equipment returns to shop in-between sites. Supervise shop technicians (schedule their time, ensure they are getting proper training to do their jobs, etc.) during equipment construction/upgrade activities. Coordinate (through shop technicians) spare parts preparation & shipments to pilot sites. Maintain & submit monthly equipment tracking reports, summarizing the state of each piece of Europe pilot equipment ( to track upgrades/program status), analysis of equipment failures & recommendations for on-going improvements. Create and maintain on quarterly basis Equipment Failure Analysis Report (FAR) Database. (, database used to track equipment failures – causes/solutions – for equipment improvement analysis/recommendations) Communicate regularly with Process Group Leadership to remain familiar with latest process & standard trends.Beyond that nothing is worth getting hurt for and due to that we require the candidate to have a strong dedication to EHS. The candidate needs to comply with the integrity and safety as required by Veolia policies and report all work related accidents (including vehicle), diseases, dangerous occurrences, near misses, incidents and damage to property to Line Manager and EHS Manager, preferably through the dedicated tool Gensuite.
Qualifications
Essential skills & Education:
Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Industrial Engineering degree, with understanding of water/wastewater/treatment technologies. Proven experience in building, construction, maintenance and/or service of water/waste water treatment equipment Good mechanical skills & comfort with hand/power tools. Basic electrical & PLC knowledge. Fluent in both English and Spanish language – written & verbal. Good organizational/data management abilities. Good interpersonal skills to work with an international team & interact with clients. Self-motivated, eager to learn new skills, confident enough to work independently with minimal supervision. Computer proficiency with Microsoft tools and/or corresponding Google tools. Willing & able to travel internationally. Driving licence.
