The main objective of this newly created position is to provide support to the corporate tax team in the management of the Global Prosegur international tax affairs. The candidate will be in Corporate Structure in the Global Tax, Transfer Pricing, Grants & Incentives team. This is a high-profile and strategic position who will work will all senior stakeholders of the existing business units and corporate areas.

The main mission is to handle all tax matters pertaining to the Prosegur footprint with assistance of subject matter expert colleagues and improve process and control framework, developing best in class regional and market teams.

The role implies the daily management of international tax topics such as:

i) providing tax advice to all Prosegur subsidiaries and different business units of the Group;

ii) following-up and provide support to the various subsidiaries across all regions in the management of tax audits and litigation procedures;

iii) managing Indirect taxes: supporting the accounting department with technical aspects related to Spanish Value Added Tax (VAT) and provide advice in international VAT issues all around the world;

iv) support the M&A team in the tax due diligences, tax structuring, modelling and tax review of transactional documents and

v) review tax clauses of Prosegur agreements.

vi) identifying tax and financial incentives opportunities derived from R&D, innovative projects, capex investment, new hiring’s, investment made in special economic zones, etc;

vii) work closely with the Grants & Incentives team to determine the eligible activities for the various incentives and link with the business units/local teams to crystalize the value associated to them;

viii) assist in designing, implementing and optimizing processes in the Group to maximize the value extracted from the various applicable incentives;

ix) assist in the project management all incentives procurement initiatives.

Main responsibilities

1. International tax duties:

Work closely with the Transfer Pricing department to implement Pilar II compliance policy; Assist in the control the Group effective tax rate; Support Prosegur Group Companies in all tax litigation procedures; Review of Tax Clauses of Prosegur agreements; Assist in the management of the tax contingencies of the Group. Monthly interaction with Group Accounting department; Tax advisory and support to the different business units; Support tax initiatives across Prosegur; Liaise with business units and assess potential opportunities to optimize taxes while effectively leveraging identified tax opportunities within the multiple geographies; Provide support coordination to different areas of the organization to centralize the relevant business information for tax reporting purposes; Follow legislative changes in various geographies where the Group is present and monitor their respective impact in Prosegur business. Evaluate opportunities and risks and proactively bring forward proposals that create value; Support M&A activities of the Group within the various geographies; Provide support to company-wide initiatives aiming to achieve a sustainable, effective tax rate for the Prosegur Group; Assist with the simplification of the corporate organizational chart of the Group by working closely with regional teams and external advisors in pursuing an optimal footprint in the various geographies where Prosegur is present.

 2. Tax and financial incentives

Identify tax and financial incentives opportunities across all jurisdictions; Lead the process to determine the eligible activities for the available incentives in the various geographies and work closely with the local teams to maximize and retain the value associated to them; design, implement and optimize processes in the Group to maximize value extracted from the various applicable incentives; lead the negotiations of bilateral incentives contracts with the various administrations/governmental institutions; project manage all incentives.

3. Local and International VAT:

Advise and support the accounting department with the technical aspects related to the VAT of the Spanish companies. This includes the preparation of responses to the tax authorities (but not the compliance functions which are performed by the accounting department) and the day-to-day interaction with the tax compliance department. Advise and support Prosegur subsidiaries and different business units in international tax aspect linked to indirect taxation.

4. Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A):

Support the M&A team in the tax due diligences, tax structuring, modelling and review of transactional documents; Support the Corporate Tax Team and Business Units in divestments and reorganizations projects.

5. Transfer Pricing

Knowledge and exposure to transfer pricing is highly recommendable.

Requirements

Education:

University Degree Business Administration / Economics / Law.  Double degree in Business Administration/Economics and Law is a plus.  Master’s in taxation is a plus.

Relevant work experience:

At least 10 years of exposure to an international tax department in a multinational environment or big four/relevant law firm. Relevant exposure to US taxation is a plus. Experience in Research & Development (R&D) and financial incentives is a plus. Appropriate exposure to Finance/Tax during degree or master.

Skills:

Proficiency in Spanish and English is recommended. Other languages are a plus. Sound International tax knowledge including Tax incentives exposure. Good quantitative, qualitative and analytical skills. Ability to work and deliver within tight time frames. Good organization and project management skills. Process optimization: ability to organize and optimize a process. Strong interpersonal, communication and ability to work concurrently on multiple projects, innovative, proactive, self-motivated and detailed-oriented. Relationship & Team Building oriented profile. Accounting skills or accounting savvy; Committed to deliver excellent performance; Motivation towards continuous improvement;  Well-rounded MS Office computer skills including proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power Point. IT and digital savvy.
