The Role
We’re seeking a seasoned designer, strategic storyteller, and visionary leader to join us for a 12+ month engagement, with the potential to transition into a full-time role. You will be at the forefront of driving the development and redesign of Immfly’s end-to-end retail experience across mobile, web, and in-flight entertainment platforms. Your innovative work will enhance the travel experience for millions of daily travelers globally, leveraging AI-driven personalization, elegant UI, and holistic design-thinking to set new standards in the aviation industry.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering fully realized, ready-to-build designs for Immfly’s suite of retail products. This includes our industry-leading “in-seat order platform” and “pre-order platform,” which are central to our retail strategy. You’ll lead the internal design team, ensuring that their work not only meets but exceeds industry standards, driving innovation in retail on-board solutions.
As the design lead, you’ll represent the design function to company leadership, advocating for design perspectives in strategic discussions. This includes aligning design efforts with business objectives, ensuring that all design outputs are consistent, scalable, and technologically feasible.
What your day-to-day will look like
- Lead the design of intuitive, world-class UX across multiple platforms with a focus on Immfly’s industry-leading “in-seat order platform” and “pre-order platform”. Champion the continuous improvement of retail-on-board solutions..
- Direct, mentor, and review the work of junior and senior designers fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture that aligns with cutting-edge industry practices.
- Partner with product, engineering, data science, operations and company leadership to scope, design, and deliver products within constraints and business deadlines
- Create and present persuasive, polished design proposals and decks to senior leadership and key clients, ensuring that design decisions align with business objectives and market trends.
- Work with the product team to drive design strategy, including the development of a scalable design language system that enhances engineering efficiency and ensures UX consistency across all channels
- Strategic Thinking: Align design efforts with overall business objectives, demonstrating the ability to see the big picture and drive the company's design vision forward
- Utilize data and analytics to inform design choices, measure success, and continuously improve the user experience across all digital platforms.
- Stay informed about competitors’ advancements and market trends to ensure Immfly remains at the forefront of retail on-board solutions. Push for innovative solutions that set new industry standards
Requirements:
Technically:
- 15+ years of product design experience with at least 5 years in a strategic leadership or management role preferably within the aviation or related industries
- Exceptional storytelling, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, capable of clearly articulating design concepts and strategies.
- Proven ability to autonomously define and lead innovative design processes, particularly in fast-paced environments where rapid iteration and stakeholder alignment are crucial
- Expertise in leveraging data analytics to inform design decisions, assess user behavior, and measure the impact of design solutions across digital platforms
- 0 to 1 experience or demonstrated experience redesigning major product elements, with a focus on evolving and applying a mature design language system.
- Keen understanding of the technological, business and user opportunities and constraints.
- Experience teaching, mentoring, building and promoting an inviting design culture.
- A deep understanding of and empathy for users, with the ability to advocate for their needs and ensure their perspective is central to the design process.
