UK Tower is the Santander UK Nearshoring strategy vehicle in Santander Digital Services located in Spain, to provide technology workforce and services directly to Santander UK that will work together and for UK Technology teams.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As a Core Banking APIs and Microservices Specialist you will work on the Core Banking Centre of Excellence, that is responsible for running, the maintenance and evolution (including technical transformation) of the Santander's Partenon core banking platform within the UK for the Retail and Corporate banks. This includes the intranet portals access to the core applications, the Digital points of access to core banking through APIs and microservices and the management of Santander UK's public websites.

We are looking for candidates to work in collaboration with the UK CoE Core Banking team and with technical knowledge on Java.

We are expecting team players who want to grow together not only technically but also knowing the business.

We need someone like you to help us in different fronts: 

Develop new components, maintain and evolve existent ones according to the team priorities and product roadmap.

Active role on team software quality assurance, best practices and agile methodology.

Work on definition and implementation of automated tests for a streaming & micro-services oriented architecture.

Coaching junior team members.

Work closely with business sponsors to ensure the solution meets the needs.

Take responsibility of the software delivery by ensuring quality and scope expectations are met.

Contribute and take ownership of the technical design and ensure all aspects of the system architecture are well documented.

Work closely with partner technology teams and to collaborate effectively.

EXPERIENCE

+ years of related experience.

EDUCATION

University degree in technology, preferably in computer science.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Deep understanding of Java ( or superior) and Java Spring ( or superior) and solid understanding of OO principles.

Experience designing and building service oriented or microservice architectures.

Solid experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools; e.g. GitLab, Jenkins.

Diligent with automated testing i.e. JUnit/Mockito/Cucumber, etc.

Agile development/Software life cycle.

Understanding of RESTful API principles.

Experience in Testing TDD/BDD.

Experience in events drawing.

Experience in working in agile would be a nice to have.

Experience configuring continuous integration and continuous delivery tools would be a nice to have.

Experience using AWS platform would be a nice to have.

Some Spanish Knowledge would be a nice to have.

English at least C.

Availability to travel if needed.
