For our Global Technology Office and in the frame of a multi-year journey to cloud, we are looking for a highly motivated  Cloud Solution Architect who has experience in designing, developing, and maintaining high value and high-volume cloud-native applications and can provide guidance to our team towards creating highly scalable software.  This will require deep collaboration with internal teams to identify and understand functional requirements, and translate them into cloud solutions.  You will also be responsible for ensuring the architecture is effective across multiple areas, including front end, backend, data engineering and machine learning. We are looking for an experienced architect who can apply the latest in software architecture principles and best practices to build an advanced analytics and AI/ML platform which is aimed to help our utility clients to realize the potential of big data and artificial intelligence.

 

In partnership with multiple stakeholders, you will focus on developing and delivering a robust architecture for a cloud-native design which leverages Google Cloud technologies.  As a key member of our engineering practice and grid analytics product team solve the tough problems and ensure success in designing and building complex world-class applications on Google Cloud.

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain scalable and robust architecture for a new analytics product based on Google Cloud
• Enable our clients to tackle tough problems and innovate at scale with hands on the keyboard architect and engineer advanced analytics solutions
• Drive the full software development lifecycle, from concept to release
• Lead and mentor our teams of developers, providing technical guidance and oversight
• Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they snowball into problems
• Assist in developing our community of practice by sharing your knowledge and experience with your peers and apprentices
• Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excel

Expectations for Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience with SOA applications and cloud-based services, preferably Google Cloud
• Demonstrated experience with microservices architecture
• Good understanding of cloud-based infrastructures
• Proven experience in leading technical teams and overseeing their tasks
• Strong knowledge of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices
• Understanding of AI/ML and advanced analytics and the application thereof in cloud-native environments is a plus
• Experience with Agile methods, automation, and tools. Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment tools and processes
• Container experience with Docker and Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms is a plus
• Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication, coaching, analysis, problem solving and planning
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple initiatives and rapidly changing priorities
