Purpose 

Senior Backend Software Engineer to work in uCars.

Tasks and Responsibilities 

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, these tasks include:

Strongly support the migration of a monolithic system to a modern architecture by stabilizing the current environment. Familiarization with the architecture and identification of optimization and stabilization potential. Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding, debugging, and designing functions. Collaborate with the product owner and partner teams to align development efforts with business requirements and objectives. Contribute to the team's agility by engaging in agile software development practices and embodying the values of teamwork, self-responsibility, and result-oriented actions. Contribute to the architectural decisions and design discussions. Ensure that the software architecture is scalable, maintainable, and meets performance requirements. Lead by example in advocating for high-quality data, software quality, performance, and operational excellence. Act according to the DevOps principle, taking full ownership of the services developed by the team—from inception to deployment and operation. Qualifikationen Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Media Informatics, or a comparable field of study. Languages:

English mandatory 

German knowledge is desirable

Requirements and Experience 5- years of practical experience in Java development, with a significant focus on cloud technologies and microservices architecture. At least 3 years of experience using frontend frameworks like Angular. Required IT-Skills and experience:

Mandatory technical knowledge:

· Proven experience as a Java Developer with a strong understanding of Java technologies and frameworks.

· Knowledge of RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming.

· Experience with JSF Framework, Spring Boot or Micronaut.

· Experience with database technologies (e.g., SQL, JDBC, Hibernate).

· Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB.

· Extensive knowledge in testing microservices web application at different levels: unit, component, system and performance tests as well as contract tests (PACT). Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines, embracing and practicing the "You built it, you run it" philosophy in line with DevOps methodologies.

· Strong experience in building and managing distributed event-driven systems, utilizing technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Kafka.

· Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).

Desirable technical knowledge:

Significant experience with Angular Framework. Experience in architectural design of complex software solutions using Java technologies. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements and translate them into scalable and maintainable system architecture Define system components, modules, and interfaces. Embrace best practices and coding standards. Oversee and contribute to the development of critical components of the software system.  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between architectural decisions and development efforts.
