Santander Digital Services (SDS) is the team of technology and operations at Santander. UK Tower is the Santander UK Nearshoring strategy vehicle in Santander Digital Services located in Spain, to provide technology workforce and services directly to Santander UK that will work together and for UK Technology teams.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As an Android Software Engineer you will have the opportunity to grow and learn through the challenge of building software in a highly dynamic and inventive environment.

We value up-skilling the entire team. To this end, we are seeking candidates who will contribute to the continuous improvement of our team, both through teaching and through learning.

We need someone like you to help us in different fronts: 

A software engineer who takes pride in their craftsmanship and in the results that they deliver.

Experience of working as part of a cross functional Agile delivery team.

Embrace agile software engineering: BDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Pair Programming etc.

Take responsibility of the software delivery by ensuring quality and scope expectations are met.

Work closely with partner technology teams and to collaborate effectively.

EXPERIENCE

+ years of related experience.

EDUCATION

University degree in technology, preferably in computer science.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Excellent working knowledge of Android SDK.

Excellent working knowledge of Kotlin, Gradle, JSON.

Experience with Material Design and Android Studio.

Experience with third party libraries like Dagger, Retrofit using MVVM architecture.

Experience interfacing with REST API.

Knowledge of Docker, Git, GitHub, Openshift and MicroServices Architecture.

Knowledge of continuous Integration and continuous delivery using Jenkins, Github Actions and the AppCentre repository manager

Working knowledge of Javascript, CSS, HTML.

Actively demonstrates cross team collaboration, sharing learning and best practices to contribute to overall team effectiveness.

Good interpersonal skills-persuades and influences others, using a range of approaches, to achieve deliverables.

Able to exchange ideas and information effectively in a concise and logical way and be sensitive to audience diversity.

Pragmatic and results-oriented.

Some Spanish Knowledge would be a nice to have.

OTHER INFORMATION 

English at least C.

Availability to travel if needed.
