What success looks like in this role: Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to act as a critical bridge between our Product (IT/backend) teams and Customer/Account teams. This is a key role responsible for translating business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements, ensuring alignment across stakeholders and enabling efficient product development. The ideal candidate combines strong technical understanding with business acumen, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, Agile environment. Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer/Account teams to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements Translate complex business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications Create and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items to support development teams Develop process flows, system diagrams, and documentation (e.g., using Visio or similar tools) Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment Analyze product performance metrics and user data to support decision-making and continuous improvement Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within existing workflows Support and operate within Service Desk / ITSM environments, ensuring smooth handling of incidents, changes, and requests Collaborate closely with Agile teams, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives You will be successful in this role if you have: Strong technical background with the ability to understand system architecture and product design Proven experience in writing technical requirements and capturing detailed user stories Solid understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms such as ServiceNow, Freshworks, or BMC Helix Familiarity with APIs and how systems integrate and communicate Understanding of CI/CD principles and modern software development practices Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments Ability to interpret and work with product metrics, analytics, and data insights Experience in process mapping and diagramming tools (e.g., Visio or similar) Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills BA/BS degree and 3+ years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a Service Desk or support-driven environment Exposure to automation tools and process improvement initiatives Ability to proactively identify inefficiencies and recommend scalable solutions Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business audiences Additional Valuable Skills Basic to intermediate knowledge of Python for data analysis, scripting, or automation Experience working with reporting tools and data analytics (e.g., building dashboards, interpreting trends, supporting data-driven decisions) Background as an ITSM Subject Matter Expert (SME), with deep understanding of service management processes and best practices Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar) Ability to work with large datasets and derive actionable insights
