Our partner is a leader in semiconductor metrology through the use of wavefront phase imaging, a technique derived from research in adaptive optics for astronomy. With a multidisciplinary team, and a flagship product, the company is revolutionizing semiconductor metrology with the highest lateral resolution and fastest measurement technique for in-line factory measurements.They are looking for a Senior Researcher Optical Design to expand its Research team and lead the design and development of new optical instruments. The position is based at its offices in San Cristóbal de la Laguna, Tenerife. Key Responsibilities:Advanced design of optical and optomechanical systems for specific applications.Development of image processing algorithms (reconstruction, AI, calibration).Construction and validation of prototypes (assembly, metrological testing).Knowledge generation:- Writing scientific papers (Q1/Q2).- Participation in competitive projects and technology transfer.- Support in patent writing. Essential Requirements:Education: Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in Physics, Optical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related fields.Proven technical experience in:- Design of optical/optomechanical systems (Zemax, Code V, LighTools or similar).- Development of image processing algorithms (Python, MATLAB, C++).- Prototyping and experimental validation (optical assembly, characterization).Research background: Publications in indexed journals, patents, or active participation in conferences.Experience in clean rooms would be a plus.Fluent in English and Spanish.Residence in Tenerife. Key Skills:Autonomy to lead technical projects.Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.Innovative and problem-solving mindset.Leadership.
