We are currently engaged in trademark matters and are seeking a skilled attorney to support our brand protection strategy.Role DescriptionWe are hiring an IP operations specialist to run trademark filing operations and examination readiness in EU. You will manage intake, classification, formalities checks, evidence organization, and communications with counsel so our portfolio stays clean, defensible, and fast moving.Key Responsibilities• Review trademark applications for formalities, identification of goods and services, and classification accuracy• Support responses to office actions focused on formalities and absolute grounds style issues including descriptiveness and clarity• Communicate directly with applicants and legal representatives and coordinate with outside counsel and local agents• Maintain docketing and deadlines for filings, responses, renewals, and opposition timelines• Prepare filing packets, evidence folders, and internal approval summaries for each mark• Create and maintain standard templates for goods and services wording, specification cleanup, and portfolio reporting• Own portfolio data hygiene across systems and ensure consistent naming conventions for Thinkof marks• Track competitor filings and prepare short risk notes for internal review• Support settlement and coexistence workflow administration by organizing communications, versions, and approvalsQualifications• Completed the IP Law Programme within the Operations Department at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO)• Experience examining European Union trademark applications including formalities, classification, and absolute grounds for refusal• Strong understanding of Nice Classification and goods and services identification principles• Comfortable communicating directly with applicants and legal representatives across Europe• Excellent written English with strong attention to detail and version control discipline• Highly organized with proven docketing and deadline managementPreferred qualifications• Experience supporting EUIPO oppositions and procedural workflows• Familiarity with trademark portfolio reporting and docketing tools• Experience coordinating with counsel across multiple jurisdictionsWork type• Remote preferred• Europe hours with some overlap for U.S. communications as neededWhat We OfferOpportunity to lead trademark strategy for a growing brandDirect collaboration with company leadershipFlexible engagement structure (contract or part-time initially, with potential for ongoing counsel role)
