This is a foundational role with real impact — ideal for someone who wants to design systems from the ground up and embed AI meaningfully into real-world workflows.You will play a critical role in building scalable, reliable, and intelligent platforms that support decision-making, operations, and innovation across a global organization.The RoleAs Technical Lead AI & IT Platform, you will take end-to-end ownership of the technical architecture of AS1's digital products. You will design, build, and evolve full-stack applications while defining how AI models, data pipelines, and intelligent agents are integrated into the platform.This role combines hands-on engineering with systems-level thinking. You will work closely with product, design, and business stakeholders to translate strategic needs into robust, scalable technical solutions.What You'll DoTechnical Ownership & Architecture• Own the full technical architecture of AS1's digital platforms, from frontend to backend and infrastructure.• Design scalable, maintainable, and high-performance systems built for long-term growth.Full Stack Development• Design and develop full-stack applications using modern frameworks and best practices.• Build and maintain APIs, backend services, and frontend applications with a focus on reliability and performance.AI & Data Integration• Define and implement the integration of AI models, LLMs, and AI agents into core workflows.• Design and manage data pipelines that power AI-driven features and insights.• Ensure AI solutions are production-ready, scalable, and aligned with real business needs.Collaboration & Product Thinking• Manage product and design teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.• Act as a technical partner in shaping product direction and feasibility.Infrastructure & Cloud• Manage and evolve cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) supporting APIs, databases, and AI workloads.• Ensure system security, scalability, and observability.Innovation & Continuous Improvement• Stay up to date with emerging technologies in AI, full stack development, and modern system architectures.• Continuously improve the platform by applying new tools, patterns, and best practices.What We're Looking ForExperience & Skills• Strong experience in Full Stack development across frontend and backend systems.• Proven experience designing complex system architectures, APIs, and scalable platforms.• Hands-on experience working with LLMs, AI agents, and applied AI solutions.• Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.• Experience with cloud architectures such as AWS and/or Azure.Languages & Industry Knowledge• Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken).• Understanding of the football industry ecosystem and its global dynamics is a plus, but not required.Mindset & Qualities• Ability to take technical ownership of projects from concept to production.• Strong problem-solving and systems-thinking skills.• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.• Comfortable working in an evolving, fast-paced, and high-impact environment.Experience• 5–7 years of professional experience in senior engineering roles, owning complex systems and platforms in production environments.• International exposure and experience working in global or distributed teams is highly valued.Reporting Structure• Reports directly to the IT Director.• Location: Madrid, Spain.Why Join AS1At AS1, you won't just be building software — you'll be building the digital foundation of a global football organization.You'll have:• Real ownership over architecture and technical decisions.• The opportunity to apply AI in meaningful, real-world use cases.• Direct collaboration with leadership and product stakeholders.• The chance to shape platforms used across international markets and stakeholders.Excited about technology, AI, and building scalable systems in a global sports environment?
