At Capitole we continue to grow, and we are looking for a:Senior Data Scientist to join an international client, based in Barcelona. You will work on challenging projects that require applying advanced metaheuristic techniques to find pseudo-optimal solutions to complex problems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, translate them into mathematical models, and develop robust optimization algorithms. As a Senior Data Scientist, your responsibilities will include:Develop and implement classical and metaheuristic optimization algorithms such as Genetic Algorithms (GA), PSO, SA, etc. . Solve complex mathematical problems by designing and implementing custom optimization solutions.Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive the adoption of AI technologies, aiming to improve business outcomes, optimize operations, and foster a culture of innovation.Translate complex business rules into mathematical constraints for optimization problems. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and design solutions tailored to specific operational challengesEvaluate and fine-tune optimization algorithms to ensure they meet performance criteria. Perform sensitivity analyses to understand the impact of various constraints and parametersEstablish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the performance and effectiveness of solutions, conducting regular assessments and making data-driven recommendations for improvement.What you'll need:Degree (Bachelor or Master) in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or similar areas.Proven ability to translate complex mathematical problems into actionable optimization algorithms.Proficiency in Python and data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Scipy), as well as optimization-focused libraries like PuLP, Pyomo, and metaheuristic frameworks such as Mealpy, DEAP and Optuna.Certifications in AI, data science, or project management (e.g., PMP, AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty) are a plus.Proficiency in English is a mustMasters degree in Business Administration or Information Technology, advanced studies in Data Science/Analytics is desirable but not mandatory._______________________________________________Why CAPITOLE?€1,200 annual training budget to invest in whatever you choose: tech events, books, courses, certifications—your growth, your way.Monthly team check-ins to ensure continuous feedback and alignment.Fully covered private health insurance.Flexible compensation package (meal vouchers, transport and/or childcare).Access to Wellhub.Exclusive discounts with top brands.Plus:Team-building activities every two months, including our summer party and Christmas dinner.Join our Capitole-sponsored football team.Technology communities to share knowledge and ideas.And last but not least: an outstanding team to work with.________________________________________________Want to know more?
