For a prestigious Manufacturing company we are looking for a Software Engineer – Data & AI Platform Location: Barcelona (Hybrid – 2 days/week in the office)Contract Type: Permanent, full-timeAre you passionate about building cutting-edge cloud services in the Data & AI space?Join a young, agile, and international team that's developing a sovereign European cloud platform from the ground up — empowering customers to shape their data-driven future.RoleAs a Software Engineer – Data & AI Platform, you'll play a key role in designing, building, and operating a scalable cloud environment that enables innovative data and AI solutions. You'll collaborate closely with other engineers and stakeholders to deliver robust, production-ready systems.What You'll DoDesign and develop components of a sovereign Data & AI platform offered as a cloud service.Extend system architecture and integrate relevant open-source technologies.Build REST APIs to enable customers to manage service lifecycles.Develop Kubernetes operators to automate lifecycle management of cloud services.Take full ownership in an agile team — You build it, you run itPerform in-depth root cause analyses and implement sustainable solutions.What You Bring3+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in cloud environments.Strong programming skills in Golang.Hands-on experience with Kubernetes — ideally with cluster creation, advanced administration, or operator development.Familiarity with technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Airflow, or Dremio is a plus.A growth mindset: you love learning new tools and sharing your knowledge.Collaborative spirit and proactive attitude — you thrive in a team that values curiosity and continuous improvement.Why You'll Love Working HereJoin a diverse, multicultural team with an open, flat hierarchy.Work with motivated tech enthusiasts who value innovation and learning.A hybrid model that offers flexibility (remote-first considered for exceptional candidates).An environment where new ideas and thinking outside the box are encouraged.
