The Paralegal IA&R EMEA/APAC will play a key role in supporting CBRE's fast-paced CBRE's Investment Accounting & Reporting ("IA&R") business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa ("EMEA") and Asia-Pacific ("APAC"), with a strong focus on Luxembourg-related matters. This individual is required to obtain and apply knowledge regarding a variety of legal concepts and processes to assist in the more efficient operation of the IA&R legal department.
This role is part of the Legal Support job function. It is execution-focused and supports the Legal function through the preparation, coordination, execution and tracking of legal documentation, strictly under the supervision of the EMEA & APAC Legal Counsel. The Paralegal does not provide independent legal advice, does not lead negotiations, and does not act as a Legal Counsel.
A key requirement of the role is accuracy, attention to detail and quality control, ensuring that documentation and tracking are correct, complete and consistent before being shared with internal stakeholders or clients across regions. This role is designed to build strong expertise in legal operations and documentation, while enabling the Legal function to deliver consistent, high-quality support to the business across regions.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Documentation Support
- Assist legal counsel with simple to moderately complex document and contract review, negotiation, revision, redlining, and other transactional support.
- Ensure that documentation is accurate, complete and internally consistent, including verification of client/entity names, addresses, dates, signatories and referenced appendices.
- Draft, update, and maintain legal forms and documents of moderate complexity.
- Perform thorough final reviews before documents are shared internally or externally.
Execution, Tracking and Process Management
- Coordinate execution processes, including signature workflows, archiving and document management.
- Maintain and update internal and legal trackers for matters not covered by New Business Take On ("NBTO"), ensuring proper ownership, prioritization and follow-up across EMEA and APAC.
- Maintain and update the NBTO legal tracker, ensuring accurate, complete and timely information, particularly in relation to onboarding-related matters.
- Support the use of legal tools and systems, including Onspring, ensuring data quality and consistency.
Coordination and Stakeholder Support
- Collaborate with various internal departments, including finance, human resources, and compliance, to support the company's business operations.
- Coordinate internally with relevant stakeholders to collect required information for documentation and execution, escalating gaps or issues to Legal.
- Support the Legal Counsel in organizing workflows, task allocation and prioritization across regions.
- Initiate outside counsel engagements in the Legal Tracker tool.
Process Improvement and Team Support
- Participate in internal process improvement initiatives as instructed by the Legal team, with a view to improving cross-regional consistency.
- Support the development and maintenance of guidance notes, checklists and templates to enhance efficiency and alignment across EMEA and APAC.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing within the Legal function through proper documentation and organization of materials.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree or qualification in Law, Legal Studies or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a paralegal, legal assistant or legal operations role, ideally within a corporate or regulated environment.
- Experience supporting multi-jurisdictional teams (EMEA / APAC exposure is strongly preferred).
- Familiarity with contract documentation, trackers and document management tools.
- Experience with Luxembourg-related structures is an advantage.
