The Analytics Experience team at Vista is on a mission to transform the way we deliver data-driven insights at Vista. We are stewards of our core data across functions, including Product Analytics Data, Transaction Data, Marketing Data, Manufacturing Data, and Customer Care Data, and produce many of the insights and reports that drive business decisions. Now, we're on a journey to transition to "speed of thought" insights by building a strong foundational data layer, increasing automation within our systems, and using Conversational Analytics to support our users "talking to their data" - all supporting decision making by leaders all the way up to the executive level.

What You Will Do

• Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of a foundational data layer to support our Product experience, enabling insights and KPI's to inform Product Analysts that support a cycle of continuous improvement of our site experience.
• Support the design and implementation of innovative data solutions that use Large Language Models (LLMs) to create a conversational analytics platform, enabling users to query and analyze complex data through natural language interfaces.
• Support data architecture and technical roadmap in the Analytics Experience space, with a special focus on implementation of Conversational Analytics at scale using an MCP framework. Create effective system designs that balance short and long-term tradeoffs while considering customer requirements and clarifying areas of ambiguity. Be an expert fluent in the most recent approaches and tools. Communicate technical updates and architectural vision to partners and management.
• Design, develop, test and deploy code through yourself and others, acting as a "force multiplier" to increase the effectiveness of the entire team. Be conversant in, and an advocate for, standard processes around development and code management. Guide other engineers in implementation.
• Support the growth of more junior engineers and ensure high standards. Support skill development and provide mentorship to more junior engineers. Proactively identify knowledge gaps and missing skills, and guide teams to close the gaps.
• Continually improve engineering excellence, Drive best practices across multiple teams, initiating and driving RFC (Request For Comments) and ADR (Architecture Decision Records) and implement and drive processes that are appropriate for maturity within the domain.
• Collaborate in a fast paced, agile environment that focuses on delivering customer value early and often. We expect that you are Customer obsessed – that you are motivated by doing the right / best thing for customers (both internal business stakeholders and consumers).

Your Qualifications

• Passionate about data and technology. Strong experience with GenAI/LLMs. Expertise in programming languages (Python, SQL, Scala), cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), big data technologies (Spark, Kafka), data modeling, and ETL/ELT tools (Airflow, DBT). The ability to design and architect end-to-end data solutions and complex data architectures is expected. 
• Experienced. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, with 8+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field, with a focus on building and scaling data-intensive applications and leading complex projects
• Leadership & Mentoring: Proven ability to lead complex projects, mentor junior engineers, and provide guidance to teams is vita
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to collaborate effectively with multi-functional teams and partners, with a proficient level of English.
