DATA SCIENTIST

Eurecat is the second Research & Technology Organisation in Spain and one of the largest applied research and technology transfer organisation in Southern

Are you ready to embark on a challenging journey of discovering and applying novel Machine Learning and AI-driven solutions in trending topics including energy optimization in microgrids with renewable energies, advanced storage systems (heat, H2, NH3) and electric vehicle (V2X), interoperable digital twins for advanced monitoring and design of future scenarios, and generative AI for an improved user experience with LLMs, RAG and agentic AI, all in an explainable and etic framework?

The Applied Artificial Intelligence Unit of EURECAT is looking for a highly motivated Data Scientist to help us pave the way in digitalization and development of new technologies for creating a smarter and more sustainable future.

RESPONSABILITIES

 As a valued member of our team, your role encompasses several critical dimensions:

• Design and implement solutions based on mathematical optimization algorithms and machine/deep learning.
• Research innovative techniques and methods in the field of artificial intelligence to stay up-to-date with new trends: LLM, Generative AI, Agentic AI, XAI, surrogate modelling etc.
• Project Leadership: Lead projects and coordinate project proposals.
• Innovative Solutions: You'll delve into the intricate world of data-driven solutions, harnessing the power of multimodal data across industrial contexts.
• Global Impact: Collaborate on scientific publications, sharing your insights with the wider research community.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar position
• Passion for DataScience.
• Basic studies: Physics, Math.
• Superior studies: MSc or equivalent in ML, AI, Computer Vision, or a related field. 
• Hands-on experience with Machine Learning, Deep Learning, with a track record of applying AI techniques. 
• Proficiency in Python and knowledge of basic libraries like Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-Learn, SciPy.
• Knowledge of mathematical optimization and its implementation in python with libraries like Pyomo or PuLP.
• Valuable knowledge in some deep learning libraries like Keras, PyTorch and Tensorflow. 
• Languages: English. Desirable Catalan and/or Spanish.
