Company Description

The Translational Chemical Biology Group at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) conducts interdisciplinary research at the interface of chemistry, chemical biology, and translational science, with the aim of developing innovative therapeutic strategies for cancer.

Role Description

This is fully funded pre-doctoral position based in the Translation Chemical Biology Group in the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) in Madrid, Spain. We are seeking a highly motivated predoctoral researcher to join the Translational Chemical Biology Group at the CNIO. The project is associated with the Spanish National Plan and focuses on cutting-edge research at the interface of chemistry, chemical biology, and translational science.

Position Details

  • Duration: 4 years
  • Estimated start date: 1 April 2026, with the possibility of an earlier start
  • Funding: Fully-funded predoctoral contract with competitive salary
  • Location: CNIO, Madrid, Spain

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's and Master's degree in Chemistry, Biomedicine, Immunology or a related field from a recognised university; a background in Chemistry will be particularly valued.
  • At least one year of research experience in chemistry, chemical biology, or related fields.
  • Experience in chemistry and/or chemical biology, preferably related to peptide or protein synthesis.
  • Experience in synthetic chemistry.
  • Demonstrated experience in drug testing assays and enzymatic assays.
  • Experience in cell biology and cell culture techniques is desirable but not essential.
  • Scientific publications will be considered an asset.
  • Fluent English (C1 level or equivalent) is required.
