Chemours is seeking an
AR (Accounts Receivable) Accountant
to join our growing Treasury team. This position will be available at the Asturias (Spain) site and report directly to the Global Accounts Receivable Team Lead.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Cash application: to run automatic batches to apply both incoming and outgoing cash, to manually apply entries which have not been posted automatically and to perform any necessary corrective actions to ensure accuracy in payment allocation daily;
  • Interims and general ledgers reconciliation: to ensure that all interims and general ledger accounts involved in the cash application process and in Accounts Receivable activities are duly balanced;
  • Creation and maintenance of Autobank rules in conversion table to constantly improve automatic application hit rate;
  • To investigate unallocated entries and payment differences by contacting banks, customers, Payables, internal stakeholders, etc.;
  • To follow up on incoming pre-payments to make sure that invoices are timely issued and cleared;
  • To process accounting requests related to customer accounts: offsets, write-offs, refunds, due date changes, doubtful accounting - upon proper approvals and documentation and in compliance with Chemours' internal control policy;
  • To process special payment method such as SEPA direct debit, Asian BAD checks, Brazilian Boletos;
  • To interact effectively with internal and external customers on ordinary activities;
  • To perform quality control checks for detection and analysis of errors on processes under scope, to take corrective actions and set-up path forward to avoid recurrence;
  • To analyze KPIs on quality of services provided and to present them to stakeholders;
  • To document and maintain Accounts Receivable procedures;
  • To perform pre-defined month-end closing tasks and to resolve any subsequent queries;
  • To support internal and external audits;
  • To perform internal controls;
  • Reporting and metrics;
  • To identify improvement opportunities and value-adding practices and to implement them upon proper approvals and documentation;
  • To lead or collaborate in projects to reduce costs and deliver higher value services;
  • To provide guidance and to answer any queries related to cash application and Accounts Receivable.
  • Perform FLUX analysis quarterly.

The Following Is Required For This Role

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related subject is a must
  • Proactive individual with strong problem-solving skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Must be a team player
  • Computer proficient including MS office skills (Excel, word, power point)
  • Fluent in English is a must. Another language highly recommended

The Following Is Preferred For This Role

  • SAP knowledge would be a plus
  • 1 year professional experience preferred
