First things first: you want to know what you're actually applying for. It's impossible to capture every nuance of a role – especially at a rapidly growing company like Mews – but if we had to distil it down to a job description (which we do, because this is a job description), it would be this: We're looking for a Data Analyst to join our Data Insights team, within Platform Enablement to help us deliver operational insights about our business, Mews Fintech and bring value to our customers.

You will be a part of a team responsible for building self-serve Looker reporting, developing data pipelines and transformations, conducting ad-hoc data analysis in Databricks and helping the business interpret their data into actionable insights.

A strong candidate will thrive in an environment which is constantly evolving and does not sacrifice attention to detail and accuracy. You apply these principles on a daily basis whilst analysing our data and interpret often complex trends or patterns in order to identify improvements. The ideal candidate will bring a new set of skills and knowledge into the existing product team and work closely with other data analysts, data scientists and our data engineering team.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

  • Work with Fintech product teams to build amazing payments products & features
  • Set up measures and KPIs to monitor the success of the product and new releases
  • Prepare ad-hoc data analysis using SQL and/or Python
  • Design data models and support managing ETL pipelines using dbt
  • Collaborate on company data infrastructure and reporting improvements with other data analysts and data engineers
  • Analyze, and identify opportunities to improve processes and effectively communicate with related stakeholders

You'll be a great fit if you bring a few of the below with you:

  • High level of proficiency in SQL
  • Experience with building BI reports in tools like Power BI, Looker, or Tableau
  • Basic understanding of cloud data solutions preferably Azure platform
  • Experience supporting finance, fintech, or payment systems is especially useful
  • Some experience with data analysis in Python/R/Scala and data transformation using dbt is a plus
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in written and verbal English
