Payroll Manager

Why we need this role
As Global Payroll Team Lead, you will play a key role in delivering accurate, compliant, and timely payroll for Colt employees worldwide. You will lead a regional payroll team, act as the main point of escalation for complex issues, and ensure our global processes run seamlessly while maintaining a strong focus on compliance, employee experience, and continuous improvement.

This role is integral to Colt's transformation journey. You will contribute to strategic projects including our global payroll vendor transition (CloudPay/ADP), HRIS integration (SuccessFactors), and "Simplify & Automate" initiatives. You will also support strengthening our Business Continuity Plans (BCP) to ensure resilience in payroll delivery.

What You Will Do
Payroll Delivery & Compliance

• Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing across a portfolio of countries, ensuring compliance with local legislation and internal policies.
• Act as an escalation point for complex payroll queries, working with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Ensure controls, reconciliations, and statutory filings are completed in line with audit and compliance requirements.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and develop a team of global payroll specialists, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Manage day-to-day relationships with external payroll vendors, ensuring SLA adherence and operational excellence.
• Partner with HR, Finance, and Treasury colleagues to ensure data integrity, appropriate data protection and alignment across systems.
• Support the ongoing RFP process and transition to Colt's long-term global payroll vendor solution

Process Improvement & Transformation

• Contribute to global payroll transformation initiatives, including vendor migration, system integrations, and standardisation of international processes.
• Identify opportunities for automation and simplification in the international payroll portfolio.
• Support Business Continuity Planning (BCP) by ensuring robust processes are in place for international entities.

Business Continuity & Risk Management

• Support Business Continuity Planning (BCP) by ensuring robust processes are in place for international entities.
• Proactively identify risks, escalate issues, and propose mitigations to secure payroll continuity.

What We're Looking For

• Experience managing payrolls for multiple countries in an international or regional context.
• Background in a team lead, supervisory, or senior specialist role
• Knowledge of international payroll legislation, compliance, and reporting standards.
• Work with outsourced payroll vendors and HRIS/ERP systems (such as SuccessFactors, SAP, CloudPay, ADP, etc).
• Involvement in payroll transition, implementation, or process improvement initiatives.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to support a geographically dispersed team.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• High attention to detail with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Qualifications in Payroll Management.
