Physical Security Specialist

Job description

We are looking for a Physical Security Specialist, who will be located in the European headquarters, Madrid, with a direct report to the European HSE Director. The Physical Security Specialist will work within the central Safety Team to help maintain and improve the safety and security of our employees and facilities.

The role involves providing consultative guidance and support to production and distribution centres across Europe, collaborating closely with regional Safety, Operations & Distribution Directors as well as European IT & Cyber Security specialists to foster a security conscious culture in the workplace.

Main Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will participate and lead various security assessments and audits at Site, Country & European level. Develop internal security standards and provide training to personnel on security matters.

This role establishes a crucial advisory role to country and European management in order to implement and maintain a robust Physical Security program to protect personnel, and key production, office and storage facilities across Europe.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Coordinate with internal departments, law enforcement and insurance agencies.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough investigations of security incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement security policies and protocols to ensure people, facility and product safety.
  • Manage and monitor defined security systems, such as CCTV, alarms, and access control systems.
  • Standards Update: Assist in the development and updating of the European Security standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Consultative Support: Provide expert advice and support to sites, ensuring alignment with safety protocols and operational efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with regional Safety and Operations teams and European Operations department to implement Security initiatives and improvements, including training of personnel.
  • Project Participation: Engage in European-level improvement projects, contributing to the enhancement of Security across the region.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the Security knowledge and skills of employees.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitor if all regions comply with internal Security requirements.

Job requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in fields related to security, risk management or criminal justice is desired.
  • Proven experience in a physical security role or a related field. At least 3 years' experience will be desired. Experience in the area of security consultancy, law enforcement or military service is a benefit.
  • Current CTC or positive vetting clearance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency and knowledge of current technology and security systems.
  • Fluent in English. The candidate would be in contact with colleagues from all over Europe.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with a wide range of stakeholders and information management.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30 to 50% of the time.
