What you will do: 
The Role's Key Responsibilities and Tasks 

As an eDOer, you will have clear objectives, great challenges and a clear overview of how your work contributes to the global company project and its customers. As a Native Lead Engineer in the Prime Team you will be in charge of:

Leading the technical delivery of a critical product at eDreams.

  • Working with top-notch tech stack including:
  1. Swift, SwiftUI, XCTests, Viper, MVVM, Fastlane, CircleCI and microframeworks for iOS.
  2. Kotlin, Compose, Dagger/Hilt, Espresso, JUnit, Clean Architecture and micromodules for Android.
  3. Java 17, Graphql, BigData (Kafka, Cassandra, Redis), Docker, Junit and Datadog for Backend.

  • Collaborating with Product, Business, Architecture, Data Science to shape the technical strategy and evolution of the Payments domain, define the technical strategy for your modules and ensure their optimal performance.
  • Helping your team translate functional specifications into high-performance logical technical design and code and split the work into smaller tasks that add quick value to customers.
  • Promoting our standards of technical excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.

Leading the team.

  • Leading a high performing cross functional agile team of 7-10 experienced software engineers and developers.
  • Taking an active role in finding and hiring the best talent available, in collaboration with our recruiters, and onboard new joiners into our culture of high performance, collaboration and growth.
  • Managing performance, setting goals and prioritising work for your team, balancing the capacity of the team.
  • Establish a sense of identity, engagement and belonging in your team, and improve team dynamics - in collaboration with your dedicated agile coach.
  • Act as a mentor, helping others develop their skills and professional career.

  • Knowledge and experience with coding, OO design, system design, performance tuning, performance engineering, design patterns, data modelling.
  • Java and code base knowledge.
  • Knowledge and experience with distributed, concurrent and scalable systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Applied AI Tools: Demonstrated comfort using practical AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI-powered coding assistants.
  • Experimentation Mindset: Curiosity and eagerness to explore, experiment with, and integrate emerging AI-driven solutions into software development workflows.
  • AI-Enhanced Problem Solving: Ability to effectively leverage AI tools to debug code, streamline development processes, and enhance productivity.
  • Adaptability and Learning Agility: Enthusiastic about continuously learning and quickly adapting to new AI features and capabilities.
  • Collaboration with AI: Experience or interest in collaborating closely with AI tools as "pair programmers" to complement traditional software development practices.
